CBS puts Romo on leave from his job until further notice

My goodness can't people just accept Romo did something very dumb and very avoidable and move on?

All this justification is making my head hurt. Like Saint Antonio Romo can do no wrong.

He's human. He ***** up. End of story. Just glad nobody got hurt.
Yeah I’m shocked this cost him his job but I mean this is typically what happens to people. Screw up and face consequences…..

He got pulled over for illegal lane changes -trashed is a stretch - I could get pulled over for illegal lane changes probably every day on the interstate and I don't drink at all!
Why are you doing illegal lane changes? I’ve actually been pulled over for that sometimes a warning sometimes it lead to a ticket for something else like tint being too dark.

That’s probably a good point. We know we as player Romo didn’t really work at his craft. He’s now seeing players who weren’t even in the league when he played weekly I wonder how much preparation is hurting him?
This nugget from the article..

Romo comes across as a very affable guy and many have described him to me over the years as a “big kid.” But he is not known as a hard worker, and it has shown on the air.

It’s the majority of the Cowboys fans way…hater!

Guarantee if Romo had played for the Eagles his entire career, those same people making all of these excuses and justifications for his “innocence” would be doing the exact opposite and coming up with reasons as to why he is guilty and/or appears drunk

Hell, we had a player who was on video having a verbal altercation with someone and who was later found to be in the same car that MURDERED that “someone” in a drive by shooting. He also failed to turn himself in for 2 weeks. Most fans here defended him because he didn’t pull the trigger and said he probably had no idea that his homie would . Yeah…ok. On top of that, there was no investigation by the NFL, and no consequences, but these same fans are the first to whine and cry that the Cowboys players are always targeted. Unreal.

It’s sickening what some fans will do to support a player of their team no matter how guilty they appear.

From what I've read, Watt is rising fast and may be seen by the network as its next star.
That might make CBS's decision-making process easier unless they consider another hypothetical Nantz/? pairing might be better suited.

Also I want to add that I do not hate Romo and I do not think he is a bad person.

Just saying he screwed up. That's all.

...rumor has it, JJ Watt and police officer have ties, to local strip joint.

Romo was the fallguy. ;).

lol, backlash? What backlash?
The same backlash that happens after any high-profile personality gets 'in trouble with the law' and some people take offense to how their employer handled the situation. Or how they believe the employer SHOULD handle the situation in their mind. Allow me to be crystal clear. I am neither saying how LARGE nor how TINY the backlash might be. I am saying there will be a backlash because, well, human history--especially in this era of completely invasive social media.

Ditto. I got a DWI when I was 18, I blew under the legal limit but since I was under 21 it was considered a DWI. Even though I wasn’t drunk, or even buzzed, at the time I’m actually very grateful it happened. I’m 47 now and haven’t driven over the legal limit since.

There were times before I got caught that I was hammered and I’m lucky I didn’t kill myself or anyone else and if it never happened I don’t think I would still be driving drunk today due to the line of work I’m in but I may have for a few more years. I was young and stupid, I don’t hate Romo for it, he made a mistake, luckily no one was hurt. He should pay the consequences, hopefully learned a lesson and never does it again.

*For the record, I regret it but I don’t. I regret driving under the influence but I don’t because if I was never caught then who knows what could have happened over the next few years.

I think your trademarked joke (which is hilarious by the way) will not be interpreted the same by all members, lol.
I interpret it as a very witty double entendre and potd contender.

Redacted as in removed.

Re-Dakted as in lost his job to a rookie again.

@Reality, I have allowed my fingers to do too much talking again. :D

Bold> That is a third way I think some will take the joke. There will likely be more to come because I had to rain on a joke. Now I will probably not get that pass key to the CowboysZone staff lounge that I have always wanted for years. :(

DARN YOU, DE FINGERS! DARN YOU ALL TO HECK!

I heard at one point that he was "asked" to dial back on that. I think some teams felt he was "giving away" information.
Oh yeah i am remembering that now. was stupid that is what made im unique being able to watch video like he was prepping for a game know there tenancies and then say look right here they are going to do blah and then they did it. was awesome.

total lie
romo haunted the film room as a player
if he did not work at his craft why did he get better and better as time went by
typical Dak Bot bs

Not unexpected. CBS must make a big decision. Stay with a proven sports personality and face viewer backlash. Or cut bait and choose a substitute who may be subpar in their expectations.
Or wait until we see how this all plays out.
