I look back at the Cowboys-Packers divisional playoff game in Dak's rookie season.

If the defense could have only held for 35 seconds....what a difference that would have made in the trajectory of his career!

Tier 1 is currently agreed upon mostly as Mahomes, Allen, Stafford, and Burrow. It's hard for Dak to dent the positions that Mahomes, Allen, and Stafford hold. All 3 have MVPs and 2 out of 3 has a Super Bowl. The only one of those without a Super Bowl has been in the playoffs for 7 straight years.

However, if Dak has a banner year (upwards 39+++ Touchdowns) - and if some of his counterparts have a bad year, spot #4 is not totally firm. It can move around fast, and Dak is a threat to take it.

Right now Dak is in Tier 2...... #5-8 with Lamar, Goff, and Herbert. Guys who are very good at what they do but not consistently so. And they go on and off with making the playoffs. Sometimes they do sometimes they don't. Only 10 playoff wins combined among the 4 for an average of 2.5 playoff wins per each of those QBs.

In no universe is Dak better than Joe Burrow. I checked all 14,000,000+ possible universes...and not one is Dak better than Joe Burrow.

He is 4 in mobility. Tier 4. He can't make it to the RB on a outside run handoff from under center. Guess they will have to run the sweep toss more. Unofficially Witten dropped by camp and beat Dak by 3 steps in a foot race last week.

In this forum there is no middle ground. Dak is either the best or the worst.

If fans would just accept the fact he is what he is- a top seven to 12 QB that can win a lot of games if the team around him is playing well- then a lot of these arguments could be avoided.

Dak needs to be better in the postseason. But so does the rest of the team. At this point fans either want to lay all the blame at his feet or call him the best QB that ever played for this team. Neither is true. But there is no happy medium here.

I'll push back a little. There is a rather large group who thinks he's a great QB capable of winning games but understand he's not the elite of the elite. The issue is that gets ignored.

There IS a middle ground. But they usually get curb stomped by the fringes so that it becomes unberable to even explain it.

You can;t criticize Dak at all becuase the defense is so bad. If you do criticze Dak you have to go through every other issue first, every single time.

I have to question the IQ of posters that think being in the top whatever means anything. The top of something in this sport is leading the team to a SB, that is my IQ, the rest is just sissy fluff.

Huh? He's 5-2 and made it to the show in '21. He gets hit like a deer in the headlights, but that's really the only comparison I can come up with

Dak is a top 4 QB in the regular season sometimes.

He has only been good in the playoffs 2 out of 7.

In the 2 games he has won he had 5 TD's and 1 INT while scoring an average of 27.5 points ...... that is pretty good.

In the 5 games he has lost he had 9 TD's and 6 INT's while scoring an average of 22.8 points (with most of those coming in the late 3rd and 4th quarter) that is not good.

Records are a team accolade. Look toward performances. Even games they won, he didn't play very good. Especially while having arguable the best WR tandem. Holds the ball too long and takes sacks instead of dump offs.

Outside of the thread post here, does any real Dallas Cowboys fan in here actually care what Tier Dak or any other player on the team is in? I couldn't care less if Dak is Tier 4; if we make the playoffs and he balls out during this run. Which leads to a ring......

You know what? You're actually correct. 35 TDs are the offense's stats. The 10 interceptions can be split between Dak and the receivers because some interceptions may have been just a bad throw from Dak. Other interceptions could have been dropped passes from receivers that may have popped up in the air and caught by defenders.

I stand to be corrected, I have no problem with that.

According to that statement alone....

1. Sam Darnold, Trent Dilfer, Nick Foles and Brad Johnson are better post season quarterbacks than Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Joe Burrows and every NFL QB who has never won a Superbowl, correct?

Again, you said the position is judged heavily based off of playoff wins and winning the Superbowl is THE biggest playoff game.

I didn't make up the rules either, and according to that one statement you typed, everything i posted above is accurate, right?

Dak will need to prove everyone wrong, by having great playoff game performances. That's what I ask for.

Will another team better that great play and win anyway?? That will be what that will be.

I just want and expect Dak to step up his game in the Playoffs. To play on fire, and to NOT play come from behind desperation ball.
