When did you become a Cowboys fan?

Wow.....alot of Social Security, military pensions, disability checks and viagra in this crowd.

Keep trucking!

Respect
Guilty except for disability checks. I’m one of those affected by the Camp Lejeune water so that may change. LOL.

Always have been a fan since as long as I can remember.

I've seen in an article that military disability is at a very high level.

If I remember correctly its something like 30+% of all veterans are collecting VA disability and of that group 30% are at 100% disability benefits.

My question is what is happening to these poor folks? As war is progressively being waged with drones/technology instead of "boots on the ground" one would think that the disabilities would actually decrease.

I have no side here except that I'm personally pro-military and just concerned about the men and women that defend us

Additionally, we should also be concerned with the increasing number of vet suicide which I understand is 18 per day

My boy, Romo got me hooked. I'm too young to really remember the 90s dynasty but my brother (7 years older) experienced it, and I got my fandom from him. But to answer the question, probably a casual fan when we sucked in the late 90s/early 2000s, but then once Parcells came in, I started being a real fan. By 2006, at age 21, especially after Romo took over, I was all in. That's why Romo will forever be "my boy".

When I retired, they told me I could get disability for a broken ankle and a broken toe I suffered during training. My ankle and broken toe have healed nicely and in no way a disability. They said I could still file. They also said if you’ve ever had hemoroids, that’s another few %. I know vets with 70, 80% disability out playing golf. There’s a lot of guys who try and take advantage of the system and get away with it. There’s needs to be a bit more oversight on who qualifies and who doesn’t. Lots of folks deserve and need that disability to survive. Then there’s the others.

I'll preface my answer by saying my Dad was on the practice squad of the Miami Dolphins from 1971 to (I believe) 1973 (I was between ages 1 & 3 back then so I can only go by what he told me). He got cut and never went anywhere after that. I don't know if he even got a snap in during any of those regular seasons. He was a center. After all these years, he's still a Miami Dolphin fan.

But now to answer the question. It was a Sunday in (I want to say) 1976. I remember my first game was the Dolphins vs The Cowboys. I was around 5, 6, 7 years old. He was watching the game and the little tyke that I was laid up against him and we watched the game. I told him I was rooting for the Cowboys... LOL

Most of anyone reading this won’t live to see it, but I think the “drought” that we are told doesn’t exist is going to eventually cost the Cowboys the national following that they have.

Kids now are into fantasy and individual players more so than being loyal to one team, and they of course like winners.

By the time Spaulding is ruling the land, they will be just another team that used to be called Americas Team and was once a proud franchise ruined by one man’s ego.

One factor is that advances in medical care now keep people alive who would have otherwise died from their injuries, as well as helping those people live longer lives.

I started watching football during 75 season, but I became a die hard fan in the 1977 season.
