Would you Trade Milton?

I hate to bang on the kid but preseason football only shows how bad you are. Vanilla defenses and 2nd/3rd stringers it’s hard to tell how good you are. I need to see it in the regular season for a few games.

Joe Milton’s stock has never been higher.

He’s obviously a super talented player.

If a QB needy team wanted to do a player trade would you do it?

A Corner or Offensive Tackle on a Rookie deal or a affordable Vet who is above average?

I think I’d pass because QBs are so important but if you’re wanting to go all in then that’s really going all in.

1 more corner on defense would be huge for this team too.

At what point? 1 half of a preseason game vs. an awful team playing with 2nd-string duds, who will likely go winless this year, and you anoint him worthy of a 1? Last year, every person in here wanted him to retire a Dolphins; now this? Good grief, when is Week 1

There hasn’t been an effort to develop a QB.

They were lucky finding Romo and Dak.

The gap between Aikman and Romo was a disaster.

If Milton has proven one thing lately, it's that he has improved his play astoundingly well. Keep him.

He has certainly improved his accuracy, poise and mental responsiveness. He's on the right track.

Those things are precisely the important solutions to the needs he's proven to have settled as QB.

So, I’m just saying, he’s 26 years old, and he still has to learn so he’ll be 28 by the time he’s ready to hit the field on his own,

a 3rd...nobody is paying a 3rd for a 26 year old QB, who is still learning to read a defense and not ready for any primetime yet.

if we get a 4th, it would be crazy.

Hence why you would be lucky to get a 3rd for him (and should jump on it if someone is desperate enough to do that).

Yep. I like his arm talent, I like is mobility, I liked what I saw of him moving up in the pocket and making plays when pressured. Will he be a good QB when given the opportunity? Not quite sure but like what I see there.

Milton has two years left on his contract. What are you gonna do when that expires - what are your options? Give his some garbage time and he excels, he is going to demand some money. Don't give him time, you really don't know what you have outside of practice and pre-season. You either gotta throw him in there with some garbage time or you resign Dak at age 35-36 for 60-70 mill or you find the replacement. I would make sure I got him some time this year......

Trade him for what? I would make almost any trade if the offer is right. Milton is certainly expendable. But before I do any deals, I would have to assess how to fill the gap left by the player I am trading. If you ask me to settle for Howell as my backup QB after I trade Milton the answer is no. Absolutely not.

I am cheering for the kid. Milton looks light years better than last preseason. Give him the whole preseason game next weekend.

Absolutely, positively not.

Quarterbacks are hard to find and it looks like Milton is finally "getting it". The Cowboys need a post-Dak plan and I would do whatever it takes to keep Milton here and have him take over in a couple years.
