He had him sit behind guys like Quincy and Vinny. He probably was ready but coaches were so stubborn back then especially Tuna

That's why I say it takes actually playing in games that count for coaches to see they have better talent on the bench. When would Brady or Warner get to play had it not been for injuries?

We may be trading Milton at some point. Dak's contract has him playing through 2028. Next year is Milton's last year. Way too much money and dead cap invested in Dak. The only way Milton sees the field is if Dak goes down with a season ending injury early in the year. Then he'll have to prove it in real games. My point is, he may never get that chance.

Milton is still unproven.

They can't get a starting caliber CB for a guy that had 4 good quarters of preseason games.

If the progression continues then his stock will increase, it's a nice situation to be in.

Not that there aren’t other teams that would take a chance on Milton, but I highly doubt anyone is giving up much in draft capital thinking Milton is going to be their starting QB this year.

Well. He's kind of been "absolutely terrible" until this pre-season. Color me "NOT SOLD". Just need more evidence before going insane.

Joe Milton’s stock has never been higher.

He’s obviously a super talented player.

If a QB needy team wanted to do a player trade would you do it?

A Corner or Offensive Tackle on a Rookie deal or a affordable Vet who is above average?

I think I’d pass because QBs are so important but if you’re wanting to go all in then that’s really going all in.

1 more corner on defense would be huge for this team too.

Absolutely, but only for a second round pick or a quality swing Tackle who might be able to outplay Steele.

As has been pointed out by others, by the time Dak retires or moves on in 3-4 years, Milton will be 30. He has shined in preseason this year vs vanilla offenses. Who knows if he can perform equally well in a real game vs defenses throwing all sorts of looks at him. His value will never be higher than right now.

Most teams don’t rebuild with a 30 year old QB who’s never started in the league. Plus, at some point soon, Milton will need a new contract.

Howell is an experienced starter who is better than Cooper Rush ever was. I don’t care that Milton looks better than Sam in preseason. Neither is leading this team to anything special if Dak is injured.

If someone comes making an excellent offer, I’m listening. It’s best for Milton and the Cowboys. Joe Milton, talent aside, is not the future after Dak.

For every Tom Brady, who gets his chance due to a non championship calibre QB like Drew Bledsoe or Dak Prescott.. there's 50,000 Joe Miltons

He said still a close race between Milton and Howell. Not ready to make a decision on QB 2.
Howell slightly ahead of Milton which was why they started him in game 1.
