Currently available tackles

Every time this comes up it's always the same answer.

Look at his deal. He isn't going anywhere. The Cowboys aren't going to pay for 2 ROT's.
I would agree normally, but if steele continues to suck, he will be replaced or even cut. Jerry has had some health issues and now very focused on his legacy. he wants to go all in this year and wouldn't surprise me to see him bring in a tackle.

He did actually fake the man down to his knees, space or not.
Eh. The way Thomas punched wouldn't happen with another body there. He's punching air where there should be a rusher. Eze got him off balance but it looks way worse than it would really be.

This is the same thing as the Zach Martin/Julius Peppers play on the Murray fumble. The defensive player jumps so far out of the hole that it looks like the block is a total whiff.

Steele isn't going anywhere with that deal. This has ZERO to do with Jerry's age.

If the Cowboys could bring in a better OT and trade Steele (and his deal) I would be in big time favor for it.

Sorry if someone has made this point but

Jonah Williams - Knee and shoulder injuries. Had worse Pass and Run Blocking grades than Steele last year.
Andrus Peat - Retired
Jack Conklin - Ended last season injured. Had worse Pass and Run Blocking grades than Steele last year.

As I keep mentioning, Cowboys fans seem very ignorant of the reality of OT play in the league.
I could have never watched a game in my life and know if your starting RT is ranked 76th out of 89 and you back up is 89th out 89 for pass blocking you have a problem on the right side protecting the QB

steele is not tradable. he sucks. if the cowboys find a better, affordable option, then I think they will pull the plug on steele and bench him.

Jerry recently had a bout with death, had a mild stroke, so he is feeling his mortality. he is now focused on his legacy, rather than just making money and maximizing profits. he may swallow his pride.

You'd pretty easily get a pick for Steele, especially since he'd be really cheap for the acquiring team. I'd bet a 4th.

his cap hit is 8M, then goes to 15M...the dead money is 34M.

so we probably bench him and release him next year.
That's not what the acquiring team would pay though.

He's tradeable because other teams would want him. Dallas might not think the return is worth the cap hit, sure.

He’s cap locked through 2028.

Embarrassing contract.

Jerry strikes again.

Hopefully Corn gets up to speed.

honestly - jerry has been striking in the positive since a lot more in the past 12 months than i think we have seen in quite some time...hes not going to get everyone of them right (as this shows) but he definitly on a net positive

Steele doesn't suck. Good run and slightly below pass blocking.

Jerry swallow his pride??? Yeah right.

For me it's a no-brainer. You move Tyler to LT and Guyton to RT.

But what do I know.

I would be open to that. And honestly, I like what I've seen out of Pete. Maybe you put him at LG next to Tyler, you have Booker at RG and Beebe at C. That's not a bad oline. And if we really want a little extra depth at LG, maybe we sign Becton to play LG with Pete developing to play LG.

Hoping someone from the cowboy's front office checks in here even just out of curiosity or to see if there is something they missed or hadn't thought of which brings me back to Jackson Carman being available for no trade and udfa price tag.

As with any position. Some fans think the team can just dial 1-800-Position and get a starting caliber player; and when they don't do so it's because the Cowboys are dumb and stubborn.

They can't trust the fact that every player capable of being an NFL starting lineman is already on a roster this time of year.

they won't pay dead money, but pay the salary.
I don't think we want to absorb a 34M cap hit. although it may help open up cap room next year

If they seriously think anything like that is a realistic prospect, and they don’t do it, then it’s basically neglect at this point.

The value, to this team, of Steele’s quality run blocking is totally negated by his almost total dearth of pass blocking ability.

If a trade is remotely viable, they absolutely must consider it.
