Lol I know they are. I'm just saying I'd like for him to actually do something when the heat is on. I know cowboy fans don't like the all pros to perform when the lights are the brightest, but I do. Leave the disappearing acts in big games to the Malik hookers of the team.....not the all pros

Yep, that 5.5 yds per punt return last year was amazing. Or the fact he only actually returned 10 punts all year. Chimere Dike had 23 returns, two for TD's and a 17.5 yd return average.

Thats some real cherry picking and ignores the reality of what was happening


Did you consider that the low number of punt returns might be partially due to the defense giving up over 500 points and an opposing 3rd down conversion rate or almost 50%?

Dike had an amazing rookie year when it came to special teams. On offense he was mainly blocking and running clear outs for other receivers, but the titans weren’t even remotely competitive, had nothing going on, and basically the coaches loaded the rookie up as an experiment to see what would happen.

It's a very questionable decision to retain that coordinator.

Seems like every coach has to have some buddy they keep on staff. Sorenson had never shown that he could be a good special teams coordinator, not even when he held the position when he and No-Schott were in Jacksonville. But No-Schott had to hire him anyway when he also showed that he couldn't coordinate a defense.

Who do we have on the roster that could return punts and kickoffs if we were to trade or cut Kavonte Turpin? Seems like Mingo and Camden Brown could both play special teams and give you more versatility on offense. I know Caleb Downs has returned kicks in the past but not sure I want to put more on his plate

Why are we making up scenarios? Are we going to trade or cut Kavonte Turpin? The answer isn't even that hard to come up with. Who's been filling the role of Turpin in the preseason games?

Mingo after Holden was released. Always need a back up plan.

But Turpin is safe.

Turpin has value in a crowded wide receiver room. The value in receiver Dallas has at the fifth and sixth positions is the reason Turpin can get trade market value, hopefully for OT to push Steele.

You have to give up quality talent to get quality talent.

I would be open to trading for an OT using him just not sure they would have someone to replace him. Kickoffs have been stifled by all the new rules to prevent injuries and he just wasn't very good returning punts last year.

Because nobody wants to see him at receiver. That's all it is. And we know they will find a way to squeeze him in to the gameplan because they think they can make him effective. He would never make a an NFL roster as a receiver only. So it doesn't make any sense to me. Keep him as the returner. Don't put him on offense. Simple.
