What we cannot see yet

We hear this every year until they get punched in the mouth by a good team. Bottomfeeding against below average competition and bending the knee to any team above .500 coming soon to a tv near you starting in September 2026.
He’s only predicting with an improved defense and offense similar to last year this will be a playoff team . He’s not saying championship or SB.

Not really a stretch. Most sound analysts said last year with closer to an average defense we would have made playoffs.

Shoot even with 30th ranked defense if we beat GB and try to win finale against NY we make playoffs . So, it’s not really much of a stretch . Beyond that , who knows.

Like any team with a really solid roster like this, the season will go as far as its QB takes them.

Id say minus a Marshall like occurrence this team is acquainted with about as much adversity as one could imagine.

I get what your communicating here, but would not for a second dismiss what they dealt with last year.

Where will we rank in penalties?

Will it be like 2021 when the league royally hosed us and made us the most penalized team in the league, in a year in which we ALSO led the NFL in scoring and in takeaways?

Oh, then they hit us with 14 penalties in the home playoff loss vs San Francisco.

Perhaps Hawk needs to better define which leadership he’s referring to?

Our leadership excels in hype and promotion. And not attracting or pursuing the best HC’s and GM’s available .
Maybe you and others need to look at the good things happening. And don’t be so pessimistic all the time.

True.

What makes me think they can is having a bunch of tough dawgs on D. Along w/ a disruptive front. Dominant OL is a huge factor also, and at least the interior of our OL is dominant.
Yes for once our trenches have been fortified on both sides of the ball.
We have finally started to build the team correctly from the inside out.
It's not always glamorous selling the most jerseys.
But big physical men with talent in the middle of both lines is a good way to start imposing your will on the rest of the league.

A winning season? Is that what this fanbase has been reduced to?
I think this fan base has been reduced to tolerating whatever amount of effort Jerry is willing to put in on trying to improve the team.

Some years the effort is so little it feels hopeless but this year we have actually put forth a respectable amount of effort and I think will pay dividends

Adversity comes against better competition; especially teams that have owned them lately.
Truth.

We’ll know a lot more as they get into the meat of their schedule. If they can go toe to toe with the NFC West, Texans, etc., that should bode well for them if they make the playoffs.

For years Dallas has been a finesse team that lacked physicality. Shotty has been preaching that. Time to act on it.

Two words. Pass rush.

I know we had a lot of holes to fill, but it seemed like the opposing qb had all day and just ate us up last year.

And now we have accomplished SSLB Gary, rotational stud Von, and two very promising young guys in EZ and Malachi. And a middle that will collapse the pocket. And a nasty blitzing MLB in Bar.

Complete changeover.

Tome

Time will tell. We had a couple good teams with McCarthy. And 2014,16 and 18 all Divisional Round playoff teams .

Too early to say if this team can surpass those. That’s the Benchmark .
No, an assessment of the talent added will tell.

You guys sound like the poster who was claiming Myles Garrett wouldn't make a difference for the Rams.

I like to define it as critical thinking. And for the record I have stated I’m looking forward to see how this defense develops and the effects it has on our season as I’ll be sitting on edge of my seat.

Where I push back is making any over zealous predictions beyond seriously contending for division and playoffs before the ball is snapped in regular season.

Apparently if I’m not totally buying into all of the hype and eternal optimism this is best team this era until further evidence , I’m negative.
