Come on man. You can't be serious?

They will keep Shelton.

They have known all along that his greatest negative has been his undersized frame and lack of play strength.

However, his lateral mobility and handwork give them something to work with.

Most likely he will be "redshirted" for the year to bulk up and get stronger.

It was a good bit before the merger when you guys came over here.

He thought his opinion was the only one that really counted… or at least he acted that way. Arrogant would be the best way to describe it probably.
Nah, Coogles is just a good dude. Overexuberant no doubt, but harmless.

I’d cut Shelton and try to put him on the practice squad.

I’d keep Moore strictly because I don’t see a 4th cornerback better than he is.
I’d just cut Shelton - there had to be OL better than him at that pick.

Shelton is garbage. He will only make the roster because they won't want to admit their mistake in yr 1. He looks like a slug out there, slow and out of shape.

Some of the OTs taken after him look fantastic. The Chargers took Burke 5 spots later and he may start. NYGs are raving about the rookie OT they took in the 6th round. Meanwhile, we took the latest version of Charon Dorsey, who loses almost every rep.

They could easily cut him and bring him back on the PS, no one's wasting a roster spot on him.

This is the result of a terrible general manager - Will McClay - talent evaluator, decision-maker decision suggestion whatever you wanna call him he’s the guy who drafted these guys.

He’s worse than Larry Lacewell
Will Mcclay does not draft players. He just makes the board (which the team doesn’t always follow). Unless there is some kind of leak it is hard to know which way any one person was leaning in regards to a prospects evaluation. And then even if a player doesn’t pan out does that mean the evaluation was bad (meaning fault lies more with Mcclay along with the scouting department), or was the development bad (meaning fault lies more with the coaches)?

Will McClay doesn't make the picks. We've gone over this hundreds of times over the years in here. He hasn't, doesn't and won't make the picks.
He and his direct reports are 100% responsible for the draft board.

It’s the most important work product of the year for him.

I doubt Jerry and Stephen even know who 10% of these players are before Will gives them the board, the grades, and the recommendations and I think that number is overly generous.

Cutting him won’t magically put another OT drafted after him appear on the roster.

I didn’t like the pick but we’re gonna just have to ride it out and hope for the best.

I don’t want to live in a world without Drew Shelton. Who is Drew Shelton BTW?

Yes Mcclay makes the draft board but they dont just take the highest player on the draft board every pick. There’s like 20 people in the draft room all with differing opinions advocating for different players. Plus sometimes players get picked because a coach advocates for them.

Kinda depressed to read about OTs picked after Shelton that look like they can contribute this season. Really needed to hit on a tackle

If I was Jerry I would fire the Scout who recommended Shelton, this guy is completely unprepared for the NFL.we could have used that 4th rd pick on a RB.
Good thought. Mike Washington Jr. was there and he's looked pretty good in pre season for the Raiders

The Cowboys normally keep all drafted players, but this roster is very deep this year, might have no choice but to subject these two to waivers in hopes they return onto their PS.

Define better. Shelton most likely had the most upside of any OL left. And the 4th round is where you take project picks. Good pick.
