Who do you cut Brown, Trigg or Mafah

I don't see how Cam Brown doesn't make the team.
You're looking through a fan Google we call it a pet cat Google I mean you know it's almost as bad as beer goggles but if all things are equal as far as performances and training camp and what not you keep Mingo he's bigger stronger and faster and you wasted a 4th round draft choice on him He's a better NFL player if you just look at them both one's a slow possession receiver who's done very well yes but I can very well see just like FLO, who got exposed to the practice squad cut and brought back and you don't think they would do that with Brown?

Yeah but rioting over what I mean this dude is the next coming of Cropper and Brooks and the other guys that have done really good things even Holden had a really good offseason last year apparently WR 5-7 also grow on trees as well...

I mean I don't even have to think about it I mean guys like Cedric Wilson and LAURENT Robinson, These guys made plays in real games for the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Cowboys lived after cutting them and then they came back and keep being these names pop up that can do things at that level but I think your argument is for all three of these guys they can be replaced..

And that might happen I could see all three being cut and hopefully they're gonna try to get most of them back on the practice squad if they can cut Flournoy and Cooper rush who both did more for this team than these 3 DUDES then these three dudes are not safe.
Some good points. Regarding Brown, the primary difference was Ced Wilson and Laurent Robinson new contracts weren't worth trying to retain, though he could end up being the next Cropper or Brooks.

That said, you want a good pipeline of talent in different stages of the career.

Right now we've got:
CeeDee: True #1 WR locked in through end of 2028 (franchise player).
GP: True #1 WR on a tag; 2026-27 offseason decision
Flournoy: Emerging contributor, solid #3, possible #2; 2026-27 offseason decision.
Turpin: Gadget player who is more of a #4, PR/KR locked up until end of 2027
????

Mingo seems like the 5th guy, but he's also a 26-27 offseason decision. If you don't keep Brown, there's a chance he goes somewhere else and thrives, and we're going "Dang... what happened to our stacked WR room?" next year.

Cut Brown and he is gone.

Trigg not so much but maybe.

Folks this is usually solved with phantom injuries and side deals, etc. It’ll work out…..but they can’t dangle Brown with all the attention he has been getting nationally.

Brown has earned a spot. To cut him sends the message no matter how well you perform in camp and preseason it isnt enough.
exactly. I understand roster management isn't easy but at some point you have to go by what the performances have told you regardless of what you'd like to do from a #'s standpoint.

Yeah you just gotta hope you can get them stashed back on the practice squad as much as I liked Phil and I still do His skill set's not special, And I really am more interested in finding a way to get Israel on this 53 but I don't know how you're gonna do that either I think he's a cross between Phil and Davis he's got size and speed II just think he has something I don't know why I just do..

Yes tough cuts are coming none of those guys may make the roster II agree with you people need to stop falling in love with people we are too deep at some of these positions and they're gonna have to make tough cuts and there's gonna be some unhappy fans..

Look at it this way if they exposed Flournoy last year multiple times they've done it with Cooper Rush in the past these dudes are not safe they have done nothing...

So I've seen better players that the Cowboys liked more end up being cut and brought to the practice squad and some of them got exposed I thought Fairweather was our best tight end in preseason in camp last year and they put him on the practice squad and we lost him it is what it is..
Not sure if you guys are just trying to be contrarian but we’re almost certainly keeping 6. They didn’t know what they had in Flo last year.

Trigg will most likely make the PS but i dont think Mafah is even good enough for that.I would love to develop Camden Brown more,he will not last a single day on the PS.

We once again enter that time of year whereby the possibility of someone's pet cat not making the 53-man roster will doom this team to mediocrity this season and beyond. Keep emotion out of this and show a little perspective. As exciting and promising as Brown looks - and Trigg as well - keep in mind that their play is against other team's backups.

I am surprised that some minimize the importance of special teams players like Turpin, Mingo, and Schoonmaker, who many have suggested be cut/traded to keep Brown. Special teams are important - just as important as the other two phases. Games can be won or lost because of a missed or blocked FG, a poor punt, or a fumble on a return. In order for Brown or Trigg to make this team, they have to show some ability to contribute on special teams, because at the end of the day, that is where they will make their bread and butter first.

To answer the question on whom I would keep, the answer is Trigg. It's unlikely that Schoonmaker will get a second contract. I am still not 100% sold on Ferguson. Spahn-Ford is a good blocking TE and good for a handful of looks a game, but not much more. This gives Trigg the advantage in securing a future spot.

By keeping 6 receivers on the roster - assuming we keep Turpin and Mingo - means we go light somewhere else. To what advantage? To keep a guy who will be inactive for much of the entire season unless we have injuries to the WR group. You have to consider where he stands in the pecking order. There are only so many players by which the ball can be distributed. The top 3 options on offense are Lamb, Pickens, and Williams. The next three options are likely to be Flournoy, Ferguson, and either Turpin, or the 2nd RB spelling Williams. Sorry, I just don't see many opportunities for Brown to come in, secure a handful of catches for 70 yards and a TD.

I'm not so enamored with Trigg. Not sure how much those catches in the first preseason game mean. Can he block at all?

Eatman was just saying on the Fan that Brown doesn't have to be fast, that he's already outmuscling people for the ball and imagine him next year after a year in the weight room. Really hoping they don't try to sneak him through waivers.

Mafah... I wonder if they played him less last week because of the chest injury. Be interesting to see how opinions change if he has a good game tonight.

If the Cowboys only keep 5 WRs, and 3 TEs and 3 RBs who stays and who goes. I think Michael Triggs is the #1 keeper and the most likely to be picked off waivers as TE is a huge need on teams. Cameron Brown may also not clear waivers but the Cowboys have more depth at WR than TE... I think Mafah is gone either way and Israel "Izzy" Abanikanda can easily be stashed on the practice squad.

Keep - Michael Triggs
Cut - Cameron Bronwn
Cut - Phil Mafah
IR - Trigg
Keep - C Brown
cut - Mafah ( PS)

Agree.
Mafah is a dime a dozen.
They can stash him on PS easily.
my only concern with stashing Mafah is who’s the bell cow if williams gets hurt. blue and Davis are the same player. Davis just blocks better slightly.

Right now, I see both Mafah and Trigg being cut. Trigg hasn't done enough because of injury to win a spot on the team even if he is claimed. Now, I'd prefer we see if we can get something for Schoonmaker since he only has a year left on his contract, but Trigg is going to have to show up big in this game IMO to force Dallas to keep him.

No way am I cutting Camden Brown.
