Have we become so used to Jerry that anytime he does bare minimum we praise him?

Genuinely curious, and this isnt to spark an angry debate.

This is a genuine question from someone that has seen this happen time and time again and wants to gauge why this happens here all the time.

Have we as a fanbase, become so used to Jerry and his family failing, that any time he does the BARE MINIMUM of his job description, we praise him for it?

Are we this conditioned by his terrible off-seasons that when he does literally the bare minimum of signing a guy on time or using FA the way everyone else does we celebrate it like we just won our 6th?

Why do fans who are justifiably upset and taking a wait and see approach ostracized so much on this site?

I am excited about the moves that were made, but I am cautiously optimistic mainly because I have 0 faith in the head coach of this team.

Can they prove me wrong, of course, and I will be the first to admit it, but can we stop praising people for showing up to work?
What’s the bare minimum? This year hasn’t been the bare minimum. I’m a guy who’s blamed Jerry for the last 30 years but this year doesn’t represent the bare minimum. Winning guys like Von Miller is the bare minimum.

Hiring Parker goes completely against what they typically hire. The Eberflus and Zimmers. Watching Downs fall in the draft…to trade up for him then trade down from 21 to get compensation back…..this isn’t bare minimum.

The Dallas Cowboys franchise does not exist within a vacuum, but your observation is completely valid in my opinion because of Jerry Jones' extremely long tenure as general manager. His length of tenure is atypical.

This thread deserves a poll. Every Cowboys fan does not size up Jones' overall job performance (spanning over three decades) in the same way. Segments of the fanbase will praise him for anything he has overseen done well, not praise him for anything after assessing his entire performance record, and fall somewhere in the middle.

Optimism is not a bad thing. Neither is being cautious. Jones has granted himself yet another chance to construct a winning combination of players and coaching that will hopefully compete for a Super Bowl. It is his umpteenth shot. The vast majority of general managers get only a handful of years to do the exact same thing. That is normal. It is logical for any fan to not feel normalcy when it has obviously been absent for a very, VERY long time.

That's not real.
On the front page right now there's a thread about how things will change with Stephen and that Jerry is a baby because he won't let rookies mock him lol.
Every year there are people like Rambo that claim Jerry has changed, stepped back, and that Will McClay is the real GM due to hopium, but you already knew this and are being dishonest about it as usual.

why dont you make a bunch of plackards, nice and nasty ones, anti Jerry of course, and then let us all know where and when to show up and we will protest with you

They do it because the "you can't sit with us at lunch" approach still works on you plebians. Who gives two spits about what the positivity pikers preach to you about what a "real fan" is supposed to be? If y'all want to give them the power over your peace of mind then that would be on you.

More people on this site post while looking over their shoulder than necessary, IMO. If more people just stated their peace, defended it when they felt necessary and moved on, it'd be better for all y'all's mental states. IMO, of course. Disagree? Well then you suck. See how easy that was? Lol.

Rambo does not represent the views of this fanbase or site. You know this.

And there it is.

Because I cant change teams. The fact you ask that, proves you just dont like the truth about this franchise.
You knew it was coming.

I just don;t get why some fans are so holier than thou about things.

There was NOTHING in your OP about being "disgruntled". I'm POSITIVE you'll be cheering them on every bit as much as them.

short answer, yes. but also this offseason has not been the bare minimum, and the wait and see fans typically chastise / call out fans that are excited. no one’s bothered by someone being pcautious and pragmatic, just leave others who aren’t alone

I personally don’t blame, or praise, I just watched the games,
I don’t call people fans, I don’t call people fake fans
I’m here to learn the latest news

Hello I don't think trading your star pass rusher and revamping your entire defensive system including defensive coaches the bare minimum. The notice including the entire media industry. It was a dynamic. Hardly bare minimum of course you're making the point, Jones has been a horrible bunch he got rid of Johnson. Of course that's true

No, it was after the fact, you can’t have optimism, without being ridiculed for it

I didn’t mean to make it sound the way you perceived it, I meant it for an honest question, if you’re not happy about something like he despises the head coach and Jerry, why do you still support something you don’t like,

I said, changes, inevitable, and the reply was, sure it is, I took that as a derogatory

No, if I’m so disappointed in something and I’m so disenchanted, I move on
Maybe a car...or bowling.

Not how being a real fan works, especially if you;ve been one for decades (and way more for some). You think those Browns fans with paper bags weren't REAL fans? I beg to differ.

You don't buy game tickets and jerseys if you aren't a real fan. You don't actively particiapate in the fan forum if you aren't a real fan (granted...there are a few people intersted only in antagonziing said fans).

Just because they don't do it exactly like you doesn't mean they are miserable. A bit narcisstic there.

So Jerry doesn't deserve to be called out, eh? He's doing a FANTASTIC job?

Jerry and even Schotty aren't the lone "face" of this team. There's 53 other people...the MAIN ones...to cheer on. Also...read my above reply.

I didn’t say he should be, I didn’t say he shouldn’t be
I said change is inevitable
I could care less about the jerry debate, I have no control of what this organization does,

Cowboys have been my team since the 60s, I take the good with the bad, that’s what I’ve learned over the years

Enjoy the games, cowboy family
And forget about the sideshow if you can

A real fan, I don’t even know what that means, I don’t use that real fan, fake fan baloney, I asked a serious question, if you’re not happy about something why do you stay with it, if it’s a car sell it
You’re going to deep, and I’m not that deep lol
