Have we become so used to Jerry that anytime he does bare minimum we praise him?

I'm not going too deep. I'm answering your question and you keep refusing it.

You're suggesting he is NOT a fan of this team (because he does it differently than you!). That's why I have to use "real"...it's just supplementary, you don't have to go too deep into it...lol.
I never asked that at all ,I asked why you still supported a team that he so disgruntle with, I never mentioned the word he was or wasn’t a fan, that was just a perception that you and others perceived

You know what I actually did use the word fan, and that was my bad,
So I deserve the ridicule
I could admit when I was wrong, but that’s not what I meant

Genuinely curious, and this isnt to spark an angry debate.

This is a genuine question from someone that has seen this happen time and time again and wants to gauge why this happens here all the time.

Have we as a fanbase, become so used to Jerry and his family failing, that any time he does the BARE MINIMUM of his job description, we praise him for it?

Are we this conditioned by his terrible off-seasons that when he does literally the bare minimum of signing a guy on time or using FA the way everyone else does we celebrate it like we just won our 6th?

Why do fans who are justifiably upset and taking a wait and see approach ostracized so much on this site?

I am excited about the moves that were made, but I am cautiously optimistic mainly because I have 0 faith in the head coach of this team.

Can they prove me wrong, of course, and I will be the first to admit it, but can we stop praising people for showing up to work?
Come on, brother, there comes a time when we as fans need to give credit where credit is due. Jerry hasn't just done the bare minimum. He has done way more this past offseason and year than he has done in arguably 30+ years. The last time he made such a trade (Micah) of our best player in order to garnish other players and early round draft picks was the Herschel Walker trade that helped set up the SB winning Cowboys of the early to mid 90s. Love him or hate him, if this team does so well that it at least reaches a conference championship game in the playoffs, we all need to give Jerry full credit.

Same thing. You're trying to back out of what's really meant. Mincing words.

If you don't accept my REAL answer :) I don't know what else to tell ya.

Have a great day!

No, I’m not trying to back out of anything, I own up to what I say, and I made a mistake using the word fan
And it’s not the same thing asking why someone would support a team if they’re not happy with it
That’s not the same as asking somebody why there are a fan
, I’m a man, I make mistakes,

What if?

What if someone loves their favorite team but does not love certain aspects of it?

What if someone loves their family but does not love the negative activities that one loved one engages in?

Does someone adjust to what they see is wrong about their favorite team or family and keep loving their favorite team or family despite what is wrong? Or does that someone execute the alternative and nuke their favorite team or family from orbit?

Thank goodness for CowboysZone, where these questions are repeatedly batted around day after day, month after month, year after year, decade after decade. Venting is a good thing.

I have one last thing to say, and I hope you pay attention
He asked a serious question, and I took that as an opportunity to answer it, honestly
And I think that that’s what he asked
So I am returned to ask him the same question and expected an honest answer, and all I got was something derogatory

Yes, but when someone asked for an honest answer,
And then in return, you, ask them for an honest answer,
They don’t like when you ask them
That’s how I perceived it

You nailed it, it’s all about venting, I’m so frustrated over the years with this franchise, I’ve learned just watch the games and shut my mouth
I enjoy them
I really can’t wait for this season because something is different in my opinion, and I don’t know who gets the Credit because I don’t see behind the scenes

That’s just your opinion
It’s not what was really meant
If it was really meant, I would’ve said so

I’m not so sure he gets a whole lot of praise ever.

Yeah he has “final say” and can overrule anyone, but I don’t think he runs things as much as some think. He listens to whoever is in his ear at the moment, which is why any type of ‘plan’ seems wonky. It’s all over the place.

This past off-season tells me there’s someone else not named Jones that’s heavily involved. I believe that because things are finally adding up as far as player acquisition and the scheme they want to run. Defensively anyway (meaning, we are a passing team with two stud guards and two crap tackles, but let’s see how that goes).

"derogatory"? Dude. I was very honest and sincere about the answer...it's a good one. You contiinue to ignore it. Even Bob answered very well and similarly...you still can't acknowledge it. Extremely defensive and it's very telling.

You straight up questioned why he still considers himself fan. You can word it all you want to avoid being a "fan judger"...but it's plain as day..not just my opinion.

Have a great day!

How am I avoiding it, when I owned up to it come on
Do you even know what his answer to me was .

To see the bare minimum take a good look at 2 off seasons ago. Those few months set us back a couple years.
Agree with the part about two offseasons ago. I don't think that set us back last year, though. I think a bunch of wrong cheap choices last offseason set us back last year.

Kaiir Elam, Kenneth Murray Jr., Jack Sanborn, Payton Turner, Dante Fowler, Robert Jones, Miles Sanders and Logan Wilson were all poor additions to this team. Solomon Thomas and Javonte Williams may have been the only positive additions before we picked up a few good players by trading for George Pickens, Kenny Clark and eventually Quinnen Williams and signed Jadeveon Clowney.

I wrote a post a few days back showing that the number of moves we made this offseason through free agency and trade are about equal to the number of moves we made last offseason. Most of those moves fall into the same category of cheaper cost/compensation, except Jalen Thompson.

Now, we hope that those moves turn out better than last year's, because other than Pickens, Williams, Clark and Quinnen, we have little to show for last year's moves.

That's true. It doesn't SEEM quite as haphazard, drunken...or splashy. We can only hope it translates to actual games and playoffs.
