Offensive Tackle Drew Shelton

Someone keeps posting that Shelton supposedly put up 33 bench press reps in defense of his strength.

I’d like to know where they got that info because he didn’t test on the bench press at the Combine nor the Penn State pro day.

To be clear, his issues are beyond strength.

For what? We are pretty stocked up starting with all 4 from last year returning.
You keep saying this doesn't make it true. Our offense would have fallen apart in the playoffs due to very poor OT play. There is no way we we were running that gauntlet. Our OL group is both thin and weak, and thats IF Guyton becomes an average starter

So lets finally put this " Our OT's weren't a problem because of offense put up good stats " fallacy to bed.

I think Bass and Cornelius are the best of the 2s.

And Cornelius may be getting a pass from us because they are not playing him at tackle. Maybe they didn't like what they saw from him at tackle.

What’s his 40 yard split though?

He needs to come up with some sort of “injury” tonight so he can be stashed on IR for the year. Someone would claim him off waivers. OT’s don’t grow on trees

Do you really think someone would claim him based on everything we’ve seen?

I can't believe he played in the Big 10. Is this a body double thing?
that too for multiple years.my Theory is that Penn state used to beat up on really bad BIG 10 teams and they lost ALL games against good teams in the BIG 10 .

I think the Big 10 puts good linemen in the league. Usually big, strong and physical. This guy looks like a total zero. He is worse than Steele. Imagine how bad you need to be to not take Steele's job.

That guy was a fraud. If I coached prime Rice and Sapp that could be me.
He ultimately did a lot of harm to the team.

The organization gave him far too much influence on the draft, and he chose poorly time and time again.

I was just listening to The Break give their opinions on the starting 53.

Someone brought up a good point.

I’d have no problem replacing both Drew Shelton and Nate Thomas with linemen released by other teams.

In fact, I’d have no trouble swapping a late round pick for someone else I liked.
