TRADED Cowboys trade for OT Broderick Jones

Interesting longterm development move. But a 3rd rounder for a 3rd string guy? I wonder what the plan is

I about crapped my pants thinking we were giving up 3rd, 4th and 6th round picks.....

Rumor is he stuggled in camp and was going to get cut per NFL Network
Liked this kid out of Georgia a lot.....ALWAYS thought the Steelers were making a mistake moving him from right tackle to left tackle. And the results show for themselves. Concerned about the neck injury...that he may have come back too early.....there was huge pressure in Pittsburgh to get him back on the field.

Like the trade.....Will be interesting to see how the other tackles work out now....Will be interesting to see how they view Jones....Is he the new swing tackle???? Or does he push Steele to the bench? Does this mean we are gonna carry 4 tackles????

LT-Guyton/Shelton
RT-Steele/Jones

Or Is Nate Thomas the left tackle insurance if we keep 4?

Im guessing Steele is getting benched

Probably. Schotty was not happy with him, and we still have a decent draft pick in return as well. I like it, and, if he's at least better than Steele, then, as long as we are able to stay healthy and not have penalties, the Cowboys should be a damn good football team this year.

I think it's Guyton and Thomas at LT and Jones/Steele at RT. Shelton is probably riding the bench.

Remember leading up to the draft was considered a freaky athlete. So far better athlete than football player. I expect the FO standard "our scouts had a first round grade on him". The need at OT is so strong I really dont think the trade needs justification. Just hope it works out because they need the help.

I dunno about this. Chronically injured--serious injuries. I think he's had a neck fusion surgery. Last year of his contract.

I think the Cowboys would have been better off pi9cking up someone off the wire.

At least it's not a lot of compensation given up. Plus, I don't think anyone is expecting him to be Erick Williams. We just need him to be better than Steele. If he can stay healthy and just be a poor man's Parnell, we should be fine.
