Is there any credible evidence beyond fans speculation Jethro hasn't been involved in offseason?

You make some valid arguments and like I said in my previous post, it’s all speculation. You may be right but I lean slightly the other way. Could have Schott gone along with the Eber hire? Sure but we’ll never really know.
And ultimately, it doesn't matter. It is what it is.

I never understand these threads. The fun of being a fan is following a team through the year. Of course we haven't won anything when the season hasn't even started yet.

Are people supposed to just wait until the season is over to judge that was fine or that wasn't good enough? What fun would that be?

Not at all. We can offer commentary and judge . It’s a lot of fun winning along the way. And as we build confidence and momentum can begin discussing more potential probabilities.

But without over hyping heading into season like stating this is a championship caliber team which can’t be established until near end of season .

It might be different if we’d been there before recently. But calling this championship caliber before the ball has been snapped is pure hype crappola.

It’s pure childish and not responsible commentary IMO. And why Cowboys fans are laughed at and disrespected around the league.

We can get excited and be on the edge of our seats without talking Super Bowls, NFCG, etc before a single game . Especially with our history this era.

Then it all comes back to that age old Zone debate of whether being criticized for being so optimistic every year is okay after so many years of failure?

It all boils down to personal choices.
Do you talk smack regardless or do you have your optimism rooted in proven playoff consistency?

Up to the individual.

I definitely need proven postseason results before I can begin to show genuine optimism.
Call it whatever you want.
That's me.

For me it’s more about credibility. Cheerleaders don’t need that to shake their Pom Poms.

And I love cheerleaders. Just not who I’d get into serious discussions with .

watch out man
some of those cheerleaders are pretty smart

And being optimistic is fine. I’m more optimistic than normal this year too. I like all of the moves we’ve made on defense and look very forward to watch it develop and how far it takes us.

But I’m not talking championships , etc.
Big difference .
Which is beyond optimism. It’s pure hype .

He’s never been a great talent evaluator but ends up with some talent . Obviously he’s seeks some advice. Always has .
he seeks some advice....but when things have gone sour, like past two years...he steps back and takes more advice and gives up the reins...

There is no official evidence of such. Pure speculation. Jethro isn’t giving up the reins.

And things went sour last two years cause one, Dak was injured for season and two the Parsons trade derailed defense.

Jerry with the 25-year old pic also used for his eHarmony dating profile.
No dating. He just picks a woman at the airport and has a child out of wedlock. Then brides his way for a child that is his to not all him father or Daddy.

That your Owner, GM, and Head Coach.

so if he was involved previously, we saw the results. we saw loss of talent, we saw 17 players from last year he chose and sign (if he was involved as you say), that are no longer in NFL.
we saw coaches take over and rebuild the team, we haven't heard or seen much of jerry this year.
this is not the first time.
it happened with parcells too when we had three 5-11 seasons....and parcells rebuild the team. then jerry got involved again, wanted attention, signed TO and peed off parcells and parcells left.

Parsons trade didn't derail defense. the defense sucked the year before as well. you are not the 32nd in defense and 6th all time worse, because of one player.
in 2024 the defense was 31st. I am sure you are going to say he was injured...yeah, like 3 games and we sucked even when we played.

so no, 2024 was the same disaster as 2025.

when jerry stays out of football stuff, team does better. when he gets involved and makes trades that he thinks are good for the team, because he thinks like a fantasy football player, then we get into disasters.

why are you defending Jerry? what's up with that?

Stephen and Schotty clearly had more operational influence, but there is no good evidence Jerry surrendered final authority. Jerry remains heavily involved but is delegating more. Can anyone really see Jerry admitting he has relinquished final authority?
I totally agree but do you not feel there is something a little bit different. I might be smelling the cheese. Yes, he still has some kinda involvement and always will till he dies but he at least seems to have confidence in his coaching staff more than other years. Now if he starts coming on 105.3 the fan here in DFW and starts talking about plays or stuff like he is the coach in years past then I will say your 100 percent correct.

I’m not defending Jethro. And I’m not saying he isn’t listening more as he has before . But that doesn’t mean he’s still not involved.

I’m here mostly pushing back that fans are wanting to feel like we are upon a new era with Jethro not being as involved and that’s why better decisions appear to be made . Not sure why they feel that narrative is necessary.

And also pushing back that while we all see the upgrades and potential of roster it’s too early to be making any projections how far it will go in January.

Beyond that I’m pretty much on board looking very forward to the season with higher expectations than I’ve had in a couple years without attaching any predictions, additional hype , etc.

This smelling of the cheese is pure hype . And we’ve seen this feeling before back when McCarthy took over and even back with Parcells.

And since you’re a local you had access to the Silver Network hour long special before each preseason game you saw Jethro front and center on the sidelines show talking football, etc like he always does.

Fans are just wanting to believe something is different simply cause it appears much better decisions were made rebuilding defense. This is before a single snap has been made in regular season.

Call it what you will but I call BS. It’s just hype . When they take the bacon home then we can all chime in on a job well done and begin discussing who deserves the most credit.

I think the vast majority of people are thinking just like this.

People are happy that the offseason seemed to go well and they're excited for the season to start. But the percentage of people who think this is actually a championship season? I bet that's very low. So you're shaking your fist at the cloud based on maybe 10% of the board being "not responsible."

I’m sure he’s involved he’s involved in everything….but I also don’t care. I’ve accepted as a fan of this team this is how it is. Wrong right or indifferent.

That said I like the moves this offseason and if Jerry was involved? Great. On paper, I’ve been a fan.

Missed the Jerry interviews on Silver Network this year. Jerry will always be involved of course just feels a little less this year, however your probaby right and its most likely an illusion.
