FEATURED Tyler Smith Is Out 4-6 Weeks

Yep, it’s a set back. But no need to mope about it. They have Bass who’s showed he can hold his own. This is the type of adversity that I’ve been talking about. Good culture will overcome this “setback”. What, did you think they would go throughout the season without any injuries? They’re will be more as the are with every team.
Getting into the 1st game without any would have been nice. And this is a “we guessed wrong” injury that lasts 25% of the season.

Than you say to the layer either you get the surgery or you will lose your job.
You honestly think a trainer has that authority? To cut Tyler Smith, an all-pro guard, because he delayed thumb surgery? OOOkay.

By the way it hasn't been that long since he was hurt anyway. The Cowboys and Smith tried to find a way for him to play through it the past week or so; and decided it wasn't going to work without surgery.

Major downgrade from All Pro to backup.

Leaves a bit of a leadership void, but I expect Booker is going to step up there -- he was a captain at Alabama -- that's pretty elite leadership
Fair but he’s still the 10th highest paid cowboy for a reason he’s no slouch.

really smith can not just put a cast on his hand and play. why did they not get the thumb fixed two weeks ago. maybe i just do not understand.

Pssst -- that is cap hit for the year.

That will always be higher for guys who you are looking to give a year to show something.

Have you been following the NFL for the last 30 years? Bass could be released any second and we wouldn't owe him a dime.

If you don't study up and do the research, you are going to get owned every post.

This is just friendly advice. But you do need to do better.

Are you drunk? How long do you want this post to be?
All this in 3 minutes, we can do more if it will truly help you understand? Seriously, I don’t mind.

“Welp, the hype was fun while it lasted.”
“Couldn’t even make it to opening night without the most vulnerable part of the team intact. Sad.”
“Yea that’s the issue.. he waited.. oh well. Always something with this team”
“and so it begins...”
“By seasons end” cowboys have used 30 OL combinations “
“Pretty much. As usually. Like the last 10 years or more.”
“Run game will suffer. Dak will need to be quicker on his release. Or needs a hot route or check down guy. Long passing game will be effected”
“Bummer big time. All was going too good”
“They had just started to reel me in on this season”
“Now the Cowboys are weak at Tackle and Guard positions.”
“Exactly, been waiting for those black clouds to start showing up.”
“And just like that, my hopes and dreams for this team have been dashed upon the hard rocks of reality”
“And here it goes.”
“Air deflating sound”

That’s ridiculous and in the real world illegal.

In the NFL it’s an outrageous violation of the CBA

Your comment is so wild that I want to believe it was facetious.

So if they knew about this all along, I wonder why they didn't keep Keegan on the 53 and our only interior OL on the PS is Leverett who we also could have lost. I know Bass is the man, but for quite a while he is now a starter. I wonder if they are thinking Cornelius or Leverett as the next man up. Obviously Leverett if we need a center. We really need to add another OL
Sort of surprised they didn't cut Sieg for a day, to get Keegan or who ever on the initial 53, then IR Smith to then get Sieg back on the roster.

Sieg is a vet, so no waivers.

Unless this was something that literally was up in the air post cut for surgery.

Don't even have to do that any more. Can just IR a couple guys with the designation to return without putting them on the 53 first.

I mean - You could tell them what to do, youd end up on the news pretty quick.
