Twitter: Dak needs 6 passing touchdowns to become the Cowboys franchise leader

This is 100% true no quarterback wins the game by himself.

But some seemingly impossible games are won by teams that have quarterbacks who are able to inspire everyone on their team to play 100% over their heads to the last second takes off the clock.

This is an intangible that can't be found on the stat sheet .

it has to be viewed in the moment to understand the impact it has on the game

the power a true leader that can inspire other men to sacrifice their bodies play through pain and do things they would not normally want to do. Is such a special and rare thing.

Cowboy fans haven't seen it in so long some may have forgotten what it looks like.

All great points!!

True leaders who impact their teammates and inspire them to sacrifice their bodies, play through pain and do things they wouldn't normally want to do aren't always quarterbacks.

Great emotional and inspiring team leaders have come from other positions on the team as well. Im not saying you said this, but far too often people think that just because someone plays quarterback, he has to automatically lead the team as some symbol of strength and perseverance.

No... I don't care about all that rah rah, hype stuff at the quarterback position. All I need for my quarterback to do is lead the offense down the field for scores, preferably touchdowns and protect the ball, i don't need him to be a "team leader".

Coaches are paid to lead teams. Yes, its great to have that on the field leader to inspire guys to step up and fight harder, but if a man can't be self motivated by tens of millions of dollars to play a sport and sacrifice his body and play through pain and play with fire inside of him, then he's already a liability to the team.

Meh. Romo is still the better QB. In 2014 he had 7.8% TDs per pass attempt and averaged 5.7% for his career. With generally worse defenses and some woefully bad offensive lines.

The one and most important ability that Romo didn't have is availability. A great tool to have in pro football is a durable body.

I don't want the best quarterback for 6 games, I want the best quarterback for multiple seasons....

Lol, and neither one of them have even sniffed anything more than a divisional playoff game. Talking about a low bar. Seriously, when the top 2 franchise QB’s (EVER) with the most TD passes haven’t even won a divisional playoff game you should know something is wrong.
What was your previous handle here?

Look man I really like Dak I do and those are her fans are always trying to and it was fight for respect for him and you shouldn't every time you start a post like this is just gonna turn into a tailspin the same things will be fought over and over and over the word Super Bowl and playoff record will come in and then Romo will come in and then it's just going to spiral out of control..

I don't know this Dak Prescott will go down as owning every single quarterback and passing record that the Cowboys have Unless there's some that are so analytical or small that I don't know what they are he will end up his career probably with the most wins the most yards the most touchdowns one of the best touchdown interception ratio he is going to be #1 when he's done and all his haters are going to just say it's stats and then they're going to forget that Troy was just very average most games because they never asked him to carry the team and I'm going to bring up Roger same thing had a super team all the time had a super coaching staff and when I used the word super it means they were a super team that were always in the mix to win a Super Bowl because of the entire roster and the coaching staff including the front office..

Here we go again every time you try to Prescott up which I understand you're trying to get people to respect him it's just gonna spiral..

That's literally the point he's making. The game is vastly different today than it was in the 90s. And there's an extra game.

That's why the standard of a good passing season is 4000 yards and 35tds instead of 3000 and 25.

4000 yd mark was hit 23 times in the 90s, 46 times 2000-2010, and 114 times 2011-2021.

League is saturated with mediocre qbs putting up 4000 yard seasons and 30+tds
Only 4 QB’s had more than 4,000 yards and 30 TD’s. Dak was 3rd with 4,552 yards.

Haters gonna hate. They know nothing else.

You don't say...... So it's only an individual thing when we're propping Dak, right?
Quit sniffing the glue. This is about passing yards and td’s which LB’s, DL and CB’s don’t do.

Haters gonna hate. They know nothing else.

Dak has spent his whole career trying to win. No one says let me compile stats and then lose playoff games.

It’s kind of odd it’s like in your insults of Dak it’s really insulting Troy and Roger. As if what they did was easy. As if winning SBs is something everyone accomplishes. As if Romo and Roger didn’t benefit from having a winning culture around and hall of fame players. As if Tom
Landry and a Jimmy Johnson rode their coat tails.

Meanwhile, Romo and Dak had Jason Garrett, Wade Phillips and Mike McCarthy hired by your favorite GM Jerry who’s proven to be…nevermind lol.
At what time I was 100% behind Romo and DAk still has time to make a difference.

Both gave us real good value until they didn't fourth round pick undrafted free agent don't expect the world from them until they start getting paid more than Tom Brady for instance.

When you become greedy like those two you need to raise your game to another level and if you can't you're going to get criticism

I never said SBs don't really matter. I said there are elite quarterbacks who have never won a Superbowl by themselves before and that includes Tom Brady.

With that said, please send me a link, attachment, post or page number where I stated that Tom Brady isn't the GOAT and his Superbowls didn't matter..... I'll respectfully wait until you submit the proof of these accusations.

Until then.... if we're going to debate anything, lets not tell lies or falsehoods on each other to try to support your argument. Thats not a good look.

Im extremely glad that you took out the time to bring up the GOAT Tom Brady because you've cleared a path for me to land and prove why this is a team game....

Tom Brady is the GOAT right??? Ok cool. Well how does the GOAT Tom Brady lose not once, but twice to a quarterback in THE biggest games (Superbowls) like Eli Manning who most didn't even consider as an elite quarterback?

A GOAT loses to a non elite quarterback like E. Manning twice in the Superbowl?

Is it because Eli Manning is better than Tom Brady when it counted the most?? Or is it that Eli Manning's TEAM played better football than Tom Brady's TEAM? Because if its not a team game than Eli is obviously a better quarterback than Brady if a Superbowl is on the line according to your logic, correct?

Please enlighten us.....
I'm just spitballing here but I'm going to say Eli Manning is the absolute luckiest quarterback to ever play in the NFL.
Lol
Kind of the polar opposite of Tony Romo who if anything could go wrong it would at the worst time.

Their salaries mean nothing. Their salaries are not the excuse for Jerry to build the teams
He was building. He was spending big money on all type of players.

Yes I agree other players then the quarterback can inspire the team look at Ronnie Lott cut off his finger to be able to play and Jack youngblood playing all the way through the playoffs with a broken leg.

We got a guy now with a thumb problem and he's going to be out a third of the season probably.

I believe the quarterback is scrutinized more heavily as a leader because he handles the ball so much and his successes and failures tremendously impact the game because of the amount that he handles the ball.

I agree coaches are a great part of it and when we had the best coaches and best quarterbacks all of which are in the Hall of Fame now we won Super bowls.

Somehow along the way we got off that path and our owner decided we were going to try and find the Jewel of the Nile at quarterback late in the draft or in free agency and we were going to use substandard coaching that didn't cost very much because in his words anybody could coach the team.
30 years later we see how all that turned out for us.

Well I think their salaries mean something when you're trying to put talent around them so they can be successful and they're taking up so much of the cap that it makes it very difficult.

Not that we would necessarily use the money responsibly but at least we'd have it to take a stab at acquiring some more talent

No one has a durable body if they’re being pounded it the ground repeatedly.

Yeah that’s an excuse though because Dak at one point was on a rookie deal and the rosters still were wierdy built and I get Romo’s salary was still on the books but still.

Terrence Steele 86 million
Zeke 90 million
Brandon Carr 50 million
Jaylon Smith 60 million
Lawrence 105 million
La El Collins 50 mill
Ferg 50 million
Osa 80 million
Bland 90 million
Diggs 97 million

Any money you needed to save should’ve been on some of these deals handed out.

It's a team game. What did Aikman sniff until surrounded by a great defense, the Great Wall, along with great weapons and coaching, and what did he sniff after some of that was gone? Same question for Mahomes, Burrows, Rodgers, and most other QBs. (not that Romo or Dak are in that category of talent...they are not). No QB sniffs any success without a well balanced team and very good coaching, along with a little luck.

Yeah, nice try...114 times from 2011-2021. So there was 1 season with 17 games in there. Keep flailing.

Literally 5x more 4000 yard seasons in the 2010s than the 90s
