This is 100% true no quarterback wins the game by himself.
But some seemingly impossible games are won by teams that have quarterbacks who are able to inspire everyone on their team to play 100% over their heads to the last second takes off the clock.
This is an intangible that can't be found on the stat sheet .
it has to be viewed in the moment to understand the impact it has on the game
the power a true leader that can inspire other men to sacrifice their bodies play through pain and do things they would not normally want to do. Is such a special and rare thing.
Cowboy fans haven't seen it in so long some may have forgotten what it looks like.
All great points!!
True leaders who impact their teammates and inspire them to sacrifice their bodies, play through pain and do things they wouldn't normally want to do aren't always quarterbacks.
Great emotional and inspiring team leaders have come from other positions on the team as well. Im not saying you said this, but far too often people think that just because someone plays quarterback, he has to automatically lead the team as some symbol of strength and perseverance.
No... I don't care about all that rah rah, hype stuff at the quarterback position. All I need for my quarterback to do is lead the offense down the field for scores, preferably touchdowns and protect the ball, i don't need him to be a "team leader".
Coaches are paid to lead teams. Yes, its great to have that on the field leader to inspire guys to step up and fight harder, but if a man can't be self motivated by tens of millions of dollars to play a sport and sacrifice his body and play through pain and play with fire inside of him, then he's already a liability to the team.
