I do some volunteer work in recovery and the seven stages of grief come up from time to time. Watching this board try to process George Pickens reminds me of that.

When he's right, he's an all-pro level player. When he's not, he's a detriment to the team. We only saw a few shades of the latter last year when he would draw silly penalties at crucial times.

He's got perform and play clean this year to be considered for next year, and even if so, that might just be another franchise tag. Albeit, a much more heft finance tag for a lot more money.

Harbaugh scolds the media for asking anything about the game plan or what they will and won't do and even who will or won't be playing. We just come out and give them little tid bits. No big deal of course, but why not just say "we will see" and leave it at that. Is it misdirection? Knowing this team I'm guessing absolutely not.

Lamb has 58 career carries. Never understood the overreaction to him spraining his ankle on that end around last year.

That's an expensive decision. Lamb is on the books for $56 million next year ($46 million), although we're certain to restructure his $28 million base, which lowers his cap it but not his dead money since that's all bonus money.

There's a list a mile long of players teams gave big money to that theyv massively regretted later. In all sports.
