Signed by Cowboys Spann-Ford reaches agreement on a three-year contract extension

OK........but 6M per year for an NFL starting TE isn't an overpay. (Remember, my post suggested he could replace Ferg in 2027).
Correct and if you read what I have written over and over and over I've said my comments are in no way based on what he might become but solely based on what he has thus far done and earned. He has not yet shown he can be what you predict. Can and will he be? Of course and I hope so, but these are the exact same comments many said last year. My point is simply look around the league. He is paid more than every other TE in his weight class. You can't compare him to a lot of #2 TEs that have done a lot more and say look he is making what they are or just a little more when he had 9 catches and is a good but not great blocker. Again, it's not big deal t one but you guys keep @ing me

OK.....fair enough
We will see how it plays out.......

But as you pointed out, he's RFA next season ( would have been). They didn't have to do anything to retain his services for the next 2 years but chose to give him a new deal anyway. Pretty obvious Schotty and Wells see something they like a lot. We shall see.........

BSF is paid like a backup so, which he is, not sure where the over pay is coming from.

Waiting to extend him might have been better but don’t discount the fact that it may be prudent. What if Ferg goes down for the year in game one? And then BSF goes off and becomes the next Travis Kelce. No one knew Kelce would be Kelce until he was. You have no idea what his ceiling is and the cowboys must think it is plenty high. You make your opinions seem like they’re facts but they are not.
:hammer:

OK so you guys can't have it both ways I mean what is this they don't sign people early enough they they overpay blah blah blah well in this case they're getting ahead of a few smaller contracts on players they believe could be the future but why wait they can use those on other people They they're taking care of business now so when they have to take care of bigger business they don't have to worry about some of the smaller business II don't even know how it's your business I mean I don't know why people get triggered over things like this how about you just let the professionals that own the team that run the team actually do team responsibilities...

I mean it's like people don't have any understanding of business maybe they don't want to get piled up on at the time and they have all these small things to get done they just go ahead and get them done 'cause they can't then they have to worry about battling David and George Pickens agent they need some energy for that down the road I don't think George is staying but you never know But yes those big moves will take up a lot of time and effort so they get all these little moves done..

He’s been showing it to the coaches since May 3, 2024. You can’t see it from the couch.

Thank God and all the heavens. I dont think we can win a SB without him. This is much needed. TE's also really make teh difference. this will surely put us over the hump. worth every dollar. we ll see mad returns on this contract.
Not a happy person are you.

Yeah. Look at what you posted. You ignored the SB and the active roster bonuses. Come on. Seriously? I gave you the contract specifics and you post shows them. I can't help you if you don't understand them

Of course you can.
What can you see during position meetings and practices during the week? C'mon, man......we only know or see what the media gives us, and guess who's feeding the media.

BTW.....here are 2 starting TEs receiving new extensions (deals). Notice the amount.......
If Spann-Fords takes over our starting TE position next season.......$6M a year will be a huge bargain
