Maybe if we had hired a coach who had been the DC for the Giants, Skins, Ravens, Broncos, Dolphins and Falcons with a stop as head coach of the 49ers! A guy with all that experience would never lead a defense that ranked 28th in points allowed.

Or maybe we should have re-hired a guy who was a former Cowboys DC but went on to be a DC for the Bengals and Falcons and even the head coach of the Vikings. I’m sure his defense would not have finished 28th. No way Jose!

Or, how about this genius? Former DC of the Colts, head coach of the Bears and current “Assistant Head Coach of Defense” for the 49ers! There is zero chance this man would end up leading the worst defense in the NFL.

I’m convinced that our current guy, who we’ve seen as DC for one game, will never do what those guys could do.
