Rashawn Gary looks like this year's Kenneth Murray

Where did this come from? Those two players had completely different careers. At least Gary made it to the pro bowl. The closest bowl Ekuban ever came to was the toilet bowl.

Not really. Gary is consistently solid as a SSOLB.

He wasn't overhyped, he's just not a sackmaster. What you're seeing is that way too many people don't comprehend the difference between SSOLB and WSOLB and expected him to be Parsons part 2. He's not that type of player. He never goes MIA, BTW. Gotta look beyond the sacks.

Just don’t see it. He’s a cleanup sack type of player with a 4+ second average time to sack over the each of the last three seasons. Quick pressure rate dropped in half last season. Run defense has historically been excellent but in decline.

Still a solid player you can use, but I think we were hoping for a true rebound season for Gary who was a legit pro bowl caliber player just a few years ago. I won’t close the book on him this early but from the week 1 results it appears the decline may be continuing.

GB selling low on him and him taking a pay cut tbh is offseason was a red flag. 1 week to judge the dude isn’t fair but we need to see more against Washington and Baltimore or else he might start losing snaps.

Dude, it was one game. Everyone is entitled to have a bad game. In fact, the whole dang team had a bad game!! Putting Gary on the same level of suckitude as Murray is just plain wrong. Let's revisit this after another game or two. As of now, there's no way he's as bad as Murray. Time will tell.

But it's amazing how one year after the Kair Elam and Murry and Sanborn hype, people expect these guys who are basically castoffs to come in here and be very good players. I'll put Broderick Jones in there, too.

Elam and Murray were never good and Sanborn was done.

Gary and Thompson have always been good. Not on the same planet as players.

“They are winning” usually implies stringing together more than one win. And it was a win against what may end up being the worst team in the league. Let’s see a couple more games first.

He wasn’t even as bad as Murray during this last game. I don’t think it’s even possible.

Keep in mind that Gary spent the last 2/3rds of last season completely invisible leaving the team questioning his effort and whether he was just done. Which is why they were more than happy to move him for a 4th.

I never got the support for that move. He was B level on his best day and we let a better player walk in Clowney for him.

But I'm not a defensive expert like secondary coach Christian Parker.

Keep in mind, first, it's just one game, and second, it's a new scheme, coach, and teammates. In other words, patience isn't a bad thing. Let's give him at least a few games .........
