Twitter: Pickens was wide open

I could buy this but the actual pass is that bad. If it was supposed to be a fade, it would have been further back towards the corner. If it was supposed to be a back shoulder pass, it wouldn't have been that high.

It literally is like 5-7 feet over Picken's head and not thrown soft either.

Such a terrible pass, even if there was miscommunication.
I don't buying the miscomminication thing either. Dak should be able to read the play regardless of what he was told or what was called.

I've seen (been in) pickup flag football games doing that exact thing.

Dak lost his mind...plain and simple.

Nice spiral on that duck

Worst play I've seen from Dak all year. He thought the guy was coming down on him from his blind side. He wasn't close.

But I still say 2nd down was the botched down. Schoonmaker penalty, and then the offensive line forcing the QB to scramble and burned our last, and most important timeout.
First down was the botched down. They should have ran. Just like they should have ran on 2nd and goal from the 2 in the first quarter.

Everything that happened up to that last play was in the rear. All he had to do was throw it to a wide open WR and the game is over and Dak gets his first victory against a real team. But player 4 showed up again and lost it.

I'll ask you just like I asked someone else.

Can you please show me proof where Pickens was open before Dak threw the ball away like he was instructed to do?

There was 14 seconds without any time outs and in case of a sack on 3rd down, you can't clock the ball on 4th..... if Dak gets sacked and we don't tie the game, then that would definitely be all on Dak, no question.

Yeah, but could you please provide me with any proof that Pickens was wide open before the ball was thrown. I appreciate you in advance.

I'm much more concerned with the number of drops than I am ball placement. Though, Dak shares blame with 15 incompletions.

Can’t miss that. This team was gifted with that PI call and absolutely blew it
I thought it was a good call. Notice where they spotted the ball - on the 2 yard line. The Ravens DB initiated contact first. That was the penalty, not the hand fighting in the end zone.

The penalty on Bland on the Ravens first TD drive was a bad call.

Wow, I thought it was a called fade and a bad play call. Instead, it looks like a decent play call and Dak misread/misthrew it.

Geezus.
After the game Schottenheimer took the blame saying that he coached Dak to throw it away. He called it "overcoaching". I don't buy it. Dak clearly misunderstood what the play was going to be. Pickens pushed off to get open, I thought but no flag was thrown. Maybe they throw it if he catches it? Who knows. But Dak throwing the ball away is a rarity. Loser do stuff like that and I am afraid this team has a losing mentality.

What about the gifts that were given to the Ravens that we had to fight through throughout the game with that bad PI calls and other calls that went the Ravens way?

If the game was called right, we may not have been in position to have to come from behind.

Calls go both ways. Point is we had the ball with a chance to win but didn’t that’s all there is to it

Just in case anybody is wondering, during a presser Dak was asked about the play, and he said he didn't wantt to get into it, but yeah, he was throwing it away. He then added, "maybe in a week.". Then added "I probably should have sat on it a little bit longer...Sync on my back foot, then put it on the front pylon... I can't find the link to the questions, but I am sure somebody local has it....Could not find anything where he said he was told to throw it away as of yet....

lol. the ball hit the dude in the grey shirt standing behind the blue barrier. lolol.

like i said. people will not remember dak blowing this, theyll blame the 7 second defense collapse.

the "best player" had the chance to end it there....not only did he fail worse than Sandy Lyle making it rain, he literally tried to miss it.

Iceman

its over for another 20 years

But, but , but Bryan Blowhard said last night that anyone who criticizes Dak is a loser and that he gave you the chance to win.

I tell you what and this goes for each person who's so blind and uninformed about how football is played.

If you or anyone show me where Pickens was open while the ball is still in Dak's hands, I'll stop posting for the rest of the season.....

But if you or all the other people who keeps saying Pickens was open CANNOT show me footage of Pickens being open while the ball was still in Dak's hands then all of you stop posting for the rest of the season. Anyone want to take me up on this??? I bet none of you will.

So all the "he was open" lies can go ahead and stop right here. He was told by the head coach to throw the ball away if his first read wasn't open an he did what the coach told him to do.

Nobody in here can back their lies up that Pickens was open while the ball was still in Dak's hands.
Hate to burst your bubble here, but throws are routinely made to a spot when a player is "not open" with the ball in the QB's hands, but by quirk of fate, the player manages to get separation and be in a position to make a catch. If Prescott threw this to the front pylon, he had a real good chance of it being a TD. At worst, it would be incomplete.

Yes, teams have plays where it is designed to throw it away with a half ending when in scoring position to allow for an attempted field goal. But, there is a caveat. The throw away is to take place if a play isn't there. The play was there - the QB just airmailed it rather than giving his WR a chance. Plain and simple.

Ive seen the video and pics many times and none of them have shown Pickens was open before the the ball was gone.

Again... show me proof that Pickens was open before Dak decided to throw the ball away as he was instructed to do by the head coach. If you can the sit your weak, coward *** down somewhere and s.y.b.a.u.

All that other stuff you're saying is cute and entertaining, but you're not believable. All that talk from WAAAAY over there is hilarious. You're weak, soft, timid, incompetent, and pretty hilarious with the keyboard courage.

Just cut the act and charades and show me proof that Pickens was open before Dak threw the ball away as he was instructed to do by the head coach. If you can't its obvious that you're the real little girl who is a joke.
The ball was thrown away almost immediately so the point is that had Dak waited another split second without any pressure by that point then he would have seen Pickens wide open and the question is why didn't he do that?

I made a comment after the Giants loss about how it seems the coaches are not trusting Dak to run the offense when time is of the essence in crunch time which makes no sense to me. He's an 11 year Vet, a pro bowler even an All Pro and the most expensive player in NFL history yet again seemingly wasn't trusted to command an offense with two x 30 million All Pro wide receivers, a pro bowl tight end, a good running back and an offensive line that held up pretty well throughout.

He was treated like a rookie quarterback last night - just throw the ball away on 3rd down despite having a loaded offense and trust a banged up and pretty bad defense to do enough in overtime to help the team win?

As it happened, we didn't even get that far!

That is a huge concern for me.

All great points. No argument from me. On another note, I wish we didn't have a false start on the 2 to back us up. That definitely didn't help, but once again. This is a very good post.
