The Texans are 0-3. Their offense is a hot mess. Their No. 1 back, David Montgomery has been hit behind the line 68% of the time he is handed the ball. Their second stringer’s numbers are in the high 50%.
But the cavalry is coming. The Cowboys porous defense. Just when the Texans are going to open up their offense, they get Christmas in early October, the no rush Dallas Defense. No rush to get to the QB, no rush to tackle, except Barham, who has been excellent, no rush to cover receivers (see 27 yd pass with 7 seconds by Baltimore to set up their winning 56 yd. Field goal), no rush to get turnovers.
We are the elixir that fixes the Texans woeful offense.
Texans get their first win and both teams end up 1-3. Enjoying the season, yet? Are you confident that Schotty has the brains or cohones to change his “Let’s play not to lose” mentality?

The front four should have a bit of a coming out party this week.

The big thing to keep an eye on is if Nico Collin’s is healthy or not. It’s a completely different offense with and without him on the field. I imagine that’s magnified 10x with our issues in the secondary right now. That’s the legit nightmare matchup problem the cowboys defense faces this week.

Nico Collins will be this week's Rise from the Dead winner. Last week it was Zay Flowers. Opening week was Nabors. Every week an injured star WR gets 100% healthy and torches rhe Cowboys

You'd think the Texans would have learned the value of an offensive line after destroying David Carr's career.
Well, they are trying, and Stroud does hold onto the ball way too long.

Stroud is a much bigger problem, BTW, than the OLine.

  • Score Texans 29, Dallas 18 (two TDs & two safeties)
  • Over/Under Owner's Box Live Shots: 1.5 (I'll take the over)
  • Broadcast will feature a Bum Phillips clip: Yes
  • Broadcast will feature clip of Mike Renfro's Catch vs. Steelers in playoff game: Maybe
  • Governor's Cup Mention: Yes
  • Mention of Gene Jones's Artwork: No (it's an away game)
  • Mention of Gene Jones's Jeans: No (it's an away game)
  • Mention of George Strait: God, I hope not
  • Mention of Jerry Jones pending lawsuit for groping a woman at a home game: No (see Jones NDA #27,804)

I'd feel better if Houston was 1-2.

And you can’t wait.

It all starts with stopping the run and the play-action passing game. If we could do that we should win convincingly. I am not sanguine that our front four could stop a decent runner and a decent o-line. The Texans are woefully terrible at the offensive line. You would think that we would be licking our lips in anticipation. Instead, we usually make the meek and destitute teams into Super Bowl contenders.

Dallas 27
Houston 24

Likely a lot more cursing and nail biting involved. Typical Cowboys game.
I can’t remember the last game, that wasn’t a heart attack game
Probably why I keep watching, the thrill of it .
Go Cowboys, forever

We will lock them down! Keep them under 45 points!
And lose 44-43. Schotty does a great job of calling for a run on every 4th and 1. But we give them the ball back with 7 seconds on the clock and they complete a 60 yd. pass. Schotty then points out all the positives and says we will be better next week. Then wash, rinse, and repeat.
