Donovan Ezeiruaku has the most pressures on the Dallas Cowboys with 10

Some people were calling him a bust in other threads
GET HOME, sacks have to come asap.. to be fair, a lot of very mobile qbs the first 3 weeks and CJ isnt big runner but can climb the pocket, , not old Aaron rogers, iE Sam williams got him a sack last night :muttley:  :oldcouple: .. guys like Goff, Stafford, Purdy, and others are easier to get ahold of.

Last year's defense, yes that one, was 6th overall in quarterback pressures and LED THE LEAGUE in pressure percentage at 31.2%.

So just maybe, some people might want to re-think their stance on what is and isn't a credible and effective pressure as a stat.

Get home or go home.

its hard for DEs to get sacks when they are coverage or playing zone half the time. i've never seen DEs not rush the QBs so much in any defense i have ever seen

in todays NFL how many "Statue" QB's are there? Pressure on Brady was a good tool, pressure on todays QB is just the start of the scramble drill that has a better than 20% chance of getting your CB burned if you don't get him down.. Pressure changed the "Pocket Passer's" clock, it just tells Lamar, P Mahomes, Allen etc its time to get outside the pocket and do some real damage.

Refer to my post #6.
Yeah pressure rate alone typically doesn’t tell the story. I want players creating pressure, but also need to know how quickly they’re getting pressure, how many guys are you sending, and how many blockers does the offense have? I mean you can get pressure 100% of the time if you send 6 guys vs 5OL

Ezeiruaku currently holds a 15.9% pressure rate.

His pressure rate as a rookie was 9.7%.
This shows improvement. That's a good thing.

But all our pass rushers are hampered by wide open receivers.

what is pressure to say Case Mckean is not pressure to Tom Brady

and the more mobile a QB is, making him move matters less

As far as pressures, I just to know how many result in an incomplete pass, or even a check down below the sticks on 3rd. Your job as a rusher is to effect the passing game. If your non sack pressures arent doing that, what good are they

I will add that for young players like Ezeiruaku and Lawrence, it can be a way to chart growth. Unfortunately for us right now, Ezeiruaku is our best rusher. He is on pace for 6 sacks generously (thats counting an half sack as a full btw). Thats not going to cut it

Pressures allowed for OT's is a better use of the stat

I respect pressures i just push back on people pretending they areas good as sacks. All pressures aren't equal.
I think a lot of this stuff is assignments. Like bland is told to give a cushion bc they expect pressure or even vice versa . Like Donavan is told to maintain lane integrity bc bland is expected to cover underneath.

These guys gotta learn each other . We may end up with a defense that gives up 40 ppg but we’ll be like heyyyyyy saw some good things by the end of of the year just gotta give caleb some help and find a linebacker in the draft

there is pressure, and then there is EFFECTIVE pressure
