I think he’s saying it doesn’t have the same stress level
Stress? Schottenheimer's stress? Or Prescott's stress? This thread is about Schottenheimer.

I would like responding to Schottenheimer's thinking only. Introducing 'stress' in this thread does not put the onus on Schottenheimer. Is that your intention?

Yeah, the coach said, you know you choke like a fish out of water when we need it, so if your choke sweat is in your eyes, bean some kid in the stands. I don't know why you guys are still discussing this. Blinded and choked, next game. sheesh

There was a thread on this board about the difference between Tony and Dak, where a former player was saying that one time Garrett made a gutless call and Tony told the team in the huddle that they were going for the win despite that. I feel the same as those guys who made the video, that not going for it was spineless and cost us the game. I wouldn't blame a quarterback for being a leader and deciding that Garrett or Shoddy gave them the wrong call, and to go for it. I never liked the Headcoach pick to begin with, so given an obvious you should've went for it in retrospect moment caught on video, why shouldn't I blame the QB for not being a true leader. Would Aikman listened to Shoddy on such a BS call or made the play? Would I've been mad at Aikman if he threw it away in the same situation. Obviously..
That play did not cost us the game
We tied the game,
If you wanna put it on one play, it was the kickoff into the end zone rather than the field of play to run the clock down

I’m talking about the two different videos, the one in the middle of the game, does not represent the same stress level as the one with the game on the line, it totally bypasses the Prescott coach scenario
And I was only trying to comprehend, was someone else was thinking, like I said, I’m usually wrong, lol
It seems a lot of people did not like that comparison of the two videos
Personally, I don’t care about either one
I think coach lost his game when he didn’t kick the pursuing kickoff into the field of play

Why are you so adamant about placing blame on a player that listened to his coach? You really are weirdly driven to make Dak at fault and that isn't the case. Now you're accusing the coach of lying?

I swear I hope you aren't a cop.... you'd plant guns and drugs on people you didn't like, no matter how innocent they are. You give off that vibe my guy. Please tell me you aren't in law enforcement.

If you are, please do me a solid, and let me know what city you patrol so I could avoid it at all costs.
lol

I keep giving them the link to that play and telling them the minute and second to start it at. I also previously said that someone almost touching dak and the pass rush they claim doesn't show up on the replay.

So, you are putting the onus on the veteran NFL quarterback dealing with the stress of the situation--not the head coach.

NOPE GP pushed of want open early, and likely would have flag if he caught it.. facts, just stop already..

the plan is open early throw it if not throw it away, that was the right call..
Nonsense, they don't only call OPI if a ball is caught by the intended WR

If your coach trusts you, why would he even tell him to throw it away, "if you're pissing your pants.' sheesh. He doesn't even trust him either. sheesh.

No, I’m putting the loss directly on the head coach
For more than five reasons, if you’d like need to explain further, I will

I had a thread with the animated gif of that particular video. I do not think real-time motion is viewed the same by every viewer, which is why I keep posting the still image also.

I just think some people have an agenda, and they’re going to blame the quarterback and that’s just all there is to it, but even if you do blame Prescott, it was coached that eventually lost the game anyways
By letting the kicker kick the ball in the end zone rather than the field of play
I am an admitted Jerry Hater. I blame him first and foremost. I blame the coaching over Dak, because they're puppets and don't provide the team with any kind of leadership. But that goes back to Jerry. But if you have puppet coaches, and the players know they are puppets, shouldn't the leader of the team, the quarterback, have the ability to know when you ignore a playcall and go for it?

For some reason, we’re overloading the system

I would think so, I’m throwing the ball to the receiver, but my job isn’t on the line,
But what are they gonna do put Sam Howell in, lol

I have to tell you, I don’t know anybody that appreciates Jerry,
I can understand the businessman, but not the football guy

Not at all, quite a few people don't buy that Schotty told dak to throw it away. Some argue that he probably told Dak to throw it away if there is nothing there. Answer this, why tell Dak to throw it away if you can just go for three on 3rd down?
That’s what I’ve been saying since the game ended. Why run a play?

So I agree, I’m on the idea that Schotty didn’t say that. My main point is we have an organizational problem if our HC is telling the media he coached Dak to throw it away. Why is he falling on the sword for him? If he did tell him to throw it away than that’s a whole level of bad.

I feel the issue is more what was said after the game than that play. We have 2 options and they both suck:
Option 1: Dak was told to read the play and throw it away if it’s not there. Then Dak missed the play and Schotty fell on the sword for him. Meaning he didn’t want Dak to be held accountable in the media. Franchise QBs shouldn’t need that type of coddling
Option 2: Schotty told Dak to throw the ball away and doesn’t believe Dak can make the play to win the game. He didn’t believe his offense could get 7 yards in 2 plays to win the game. That’s really bad. You play to win and not tie

As a fan I’m more concerned about the environment of coddling and the lack of aggression than the actual play in question and the loss overall. If we need to coddle our superstars then what are we doing here? If we’re not going for the win and playing scared then again what are we doing here?

TLDR Schotty lost me on this one and his presser and game management was the bridge burner.

You just don't get it. You don't understand situational football. This isn't a game of Madden on Franchise Mode. You just don't get it. Its cool. How do you know Dak hasn't audibled to his own plays before? Im sure in 11 years, Dak has changed calls before.

Dak has been between a top 6 to 10 player his whole career. Quarterbacks in this league can only play that long at a high level by being smart and making intelligent decisions.

And you said would Aikman have listened to Schotty? Well he had to listen to Barry Switzer, so...

I keep my eye on where Dak head is looking at, and that is where he throws the ball to like it was always planned to be done. that is before things go out of hand with any passrush, IMO, and his head is facing that way before pickens even gets to the endzone.

More importantly, how am I going to watch tomorrow’s game,
I could get Sunday ticket, being a veteran, for 198
But I don’t wanna pay that for just one game
And stream East doesn’t work
And if I post during the game, peoples posts are usually just one sentence and they’re not explicit enough to understand what’s really happening
That’s the real dilemma
