Ideal secondary?

2023
DaRon Bland earned an overall Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade of 89.5 for the 2023 NFL season, which ranked as the second-highest grade among all cornerbacks in the league.

You dont get 9 interceptions if you cant cover.

Whatever. Im done beating a dead horse.
Diggs got 11 while allowing the most yards in the NFL.

Glad you're done, you're not doing so well!!!!!!

There are far more ways to grade CBs than simply counting INT's. No wonder you're not getting this!!!!

His injury slowed him. I don't think he's the same player as 2023 Bland.

I think both if these season can be attributed to the headache in in green bay. Both of them were not shut down corners and can be exploited in coverage relatively easily. I think wed be OK with Bland if we got better in applying pressure. Micah was a difference maker. The QBs can bake a cake back there.

• The Gambler’s Trait: Bland was targeted significantly more (83 times) than shutdown corners like Sauce Gardner or Jaylon Johnson, who quarterbacks often avoided entirely. Because he played close to the line and jumped routes, Bland allowed a higher yardage total (629 yards) but counterbalanced it with an astronomical 9 interceptions.

• Exceptional Value Outside of Turnovers: Unlike other historic ball-hawks who gave up massive chunks of yardage when they missed, advanced metrics show Bland finished 1st in Pass Coverage Total Points per play, meaning he remained a net-positive down-to-down defender even when he wasn't forcing turnovers.

• Man vs. Zone Split: Pro Football Focus and Next Gen Stats noted a stark contrast in his style—Bland was dominant in man coverage, holding wide receivers to just 5.3 yards per target (11th-best in the NFL), but was more vulnerable in zone schemes where he surrendered 9.6 yards per target.

TBD. I dont get the rage hate against him, especially this year.

If you want to blame him for his bad feet and injuries over the last two years, ok.

From what Ive seen of him THIS year, it looks like hes moving well. Coverage has been mostly pretty tight.

As Ive said before, these first 4 or 5 games were going to be a learning period. New guys, rookies, new scheme. And then add to it a bunch of injuries.

Picking out Bland and blaming him for the problems is just ridiculous. Hes given up 8 less receptions than the second highest paid corner in the league. Guess Witherspoon sucks to.

His coverage has been better but still way too many easy completions on his side. Maybe all the new coordinators has hurt him. At least he's healthy. Adding porter was huge for us. It might be why we won that last game. They didn't even throw his direction. This week we have a golden opportunity to unleash on a team that's struggling worse than we are. Mayfield won't play. I want to see fundamentals in this game and expect them to run heavily on us to protect the rookie QB they have. Bucky Irving and the other backs are no joke.
