This was first season in 3 years I felt hope starting to come back

You are just playing the results. No one was going into this year thinking the defense was going to be just as bad as it was last year, if not worse.

Well and not only that, but there has been improvement on the D. It's slow, but I've been noticing them getting gradually better. The problem has actually been that our offense isn't taking advantage. For some reason, they don't air it out nearly as much as they did last season (which is a Pickens specialty). They aren't taking nearly enough advantage when the offense gets them the ball. And, especially at home, they should be coming away with at least 3 points every time they are on the field. It's inexcusable at home for our offense to score only 7 in one half with how high paid and powered they are.

Honestly, this was the first season in 3 years where I felt actual hope starting to come back. And that's been bashed into the ground. I hated the feeling of not looking forward to a season. I hated the feeling that we had no shot. And this offseason actually gave me hope. We actually seemed to be doing things a better way. But no. Nothing changes. Just spirals down the toilet.

I genuinely don't know what to do. I'm a diehard fan. I genuinely love the Cowboys. But, at the same time, it's hard knowing that this team just doesn't have what it takes.
I’m really sorry man. I mean that. I got Lucy’d as well.

It is what it is, and my bar wasn't even high. What I didn't expect was that our offense the last few weeks (except for the second half against the Texans) would be so anemic.

That sucks man I’m sorry that you felt that way. Unfortunately, I haven’t felt hope and have felt even less hope with the hiring of BS. Knew who he was before and who he is now. I won’t feel any hope until we get a real HC.

New DC, D additions in Caleb Downs Malachi Jalen Williams D Winters, full offseason with Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark. Now the addition of J Porter. You SHOULD have had hope that would have made us better. It's actually shocking they are still so bad.
sorry again for being the negative guy, but in my opinion really only Quinnen williams (and maybe Kenny) should've been looked at as impactful contributors. All the others are rookies and/or tier b/c players relying on a rookie DC. not counting porter since he just got here...i'm not saying I expected them to be awful but nothing about these additions made me feel like we were gonna be a top team

And that's the thing, my bar could not have been much lower considering how the division was shaping up. And honestly, the defence wasn't even the problem today. They only gave up 7 in the first half, and it should have been 0 if Bland wasn't idiotic. I expect more than 7 from our $100+ mil offense.
If you have very low expectations you will not be disappointed. Have to realize the media pump that goes on by Dallas. Remember it feels like things are going to be different this year.
Just enjoy the games and don't expect Dallas to win. The sad part is Jerry has traded several 2027 draft picks in a loaded draft. Going to have an impact on our team going forward, especially if Jerry will not pay big bucks for free agents.

That's the thing though, it's obviously not as fun if we lose. And it's even less fun when as fans, we get picked on probably more than most other fanbases. Like, I don't deal with it a lot in Cleveland, but media people love ripping on us. And I get dunked on often by other fans in my hobby that are football fans. And honestly, as a fan, I am so sick of the Americas team label. It's nothing but a target. It wouldn't be so bad if we weren't targeted as fans seemingly more than most other fanbases. 31 fanbases are allowed to have hope in some capacity. But Cowboys fans get attacked for even feeling remotely positive. Then, on nights like tonight, we never hear the end of it.

I’m shocked at how bad Parker is. They are giving up huge plays like when Nolan was here.

The coaching is just pathetic and it’s all on Jerry. This is why I hate the guy and constantly bad mouth him.

They needed to be this aggressive with personnel when they had semi real coaches here during the MM/Quinn period, then maybe it could have worked.

Not knowing what to do and when is another Jones speciality.

Thing is…..they could win the whole thing and still no one would consider Jerry Jones some master football guy. He has already cemented his legacy, has a chance to save a little face, but won’t. The ego isn’t open to it.

Me too. As I said on another thread, FIFTY FREAKIN YEARS. Once JJ fired Jimmy and really started "managing" the team, it's been one disaster after another. He utterly wasted a great QB in Romo. I see absolutely nothing that can be done. And to make matters worse, look at another perpetual loser, the Chargers: they brought in a supposedly great coach and they're as horrible as ever. Some franchises are cursed---yet even the crappy Falcons, Saints, Bears, and Cardinals have been to a Super Bowl more recently than Dallas has. I've just given up on this useless team and its blockheaded owner.

Hope, for any Cowboys fan, can now only come in the form of your age. Are you young enough where you will outlive Jerry and get to see whatever the next chapter for the Cowboys becomes? That's it, that's the only hope. The Jerry chapter of Cowboys history is 100 percent hopeless and will always remain so for as long as he sits up in that box and wears that stupid smug grin and ruins everything.

Stop caring so much. Watch let go on to the next ball game. Be a cornerback mentality. I hear you though

Now JJ and nepo son can use this as validation to go cheap and not be aggressive in acquiring players in the future. But they won’t learn anything about coaching hires. They want to be comfortable and tinker with their toy.
