Next Head Coach?

Doesn't matter who they hire as HC. But if they move on from Shotty a veteran defensive coach would really help CP while hiring an actual qualified OC who is good at his job will keep the offense running. But if they keep Shotty he still needs a good OC who can call plays and they need to hire a defensive veteran assistant to call plays.

Akoye breaks down defensive plays of Tampa game. His thoughts were the scheme wasn't the problem but the players weren't executing plays called. He had a problem with Shotty play calling. Example over and over shotgun in a empty back field.
While forgetting that coaching goes beyond play calling.

Shotty is dead man walking. Good as gone. CP might be too. For me, you elevate Klayton Adams or you go hire Chris Shula. Otherwise, your looking at hiring a retread like Gruden or Tomlin. Either are upgrades though. Shotty just seems uninspiring. Can't get the team to rally around to listen. CP is in over his head we lack good players. Not a great combo.
That is just ridiculous you elevate Adams never behave coach he's not even play calling OC.. That's just as bad or worse than your view of Christian Parker,

this man couldn't even have this group in the first half of the Texans game couldn't block their way out of a paper bag, Literally 6 on 4 at times still couldn't block, They couldn't block all game, or pick up the BLitz,

So soe of you all he's getting pass, Where's the run game/ that his deal, you know that's his group and you'd hire him tell me you just want to live in the moment and just say things come to mind no adults hell no The heck that would be monumental mistake..

They couldn't block the blitz They couldn't But oh he's the first thing you think of oh no no no no..

He's gonna need to prove he can actually be a good OC first.. BS for sure can bea great OC ,was in Seattle I've seen do it here, give me up on him now and then bring another greenhorn that proved himself in there I don't even get it..

So that would be your plan or keep a holdover here, hiring a new head coach make him have added that's not how it works..

I think y'all need to calm down and let's see what the season looks like...

If the Dallas Cowboys decide to move on from Brian Schottenheimer, I think the biggest question is whether they need another offensive minded head coach or someone who can finally get the defense playing at a consistently high level.

For me, the next hire should be evaluated on three things: proven leadership, a clear defensive philosophy, and the ability to build a coaching staff that complements Dak Prescott and the roster.

Brian Flores, Chris Shula, or even Klint Kubiak are possible places to start and go from there. Go outside the organization and not promote from within. And most importantly give him the power to make real changes and not be a Jerry Jones yes man.
No clue how Flores would do as a HC but I’m sick of watching this defense every season. I do know we would be super aggressive for once.

Does our head coach have a guaranteed contract? If so, why would you give him one?

My pick for next head coach, John Gruden.

I don’t think we are firing anybody. The offense has been strong under Scotty and the defense hasn’t had the same coordinator for the last 4 years. Firing folks means a 5th DC and that’s probably part of the issue.

The Eagles changed offensive coordinators at the same pace the Cowboys changed defensive coordinators. Somehow, that didn't stop them from competing in and winning SBs. The changing of coordinators is an excuse that doesn't fly when you look at other, professionally managed teams, nor is it a logical reason to keep a bad employee on the payroll.

Tomlin is awful at clock management, and has archaic ideas about offense, but would be a massive upgrade over Schottzie.

Sean McDermott, despite his inability to get the Bills over the hump, would be a massive upgrade over Schottzie.

Steve Soagnoulo would be a massive upgrade over Schottzie.

Brian Flores, if able to keep his feelings in check about the offense, would be a massive upgrade over Schottzie.

Jones has literally said he thinks some of the defensive problems fall on him because of the constant changes of DCs. So regardless of what I think we should or shouldn’t do, I wouldn’t expect a coaching change.

What are they going to do, fire Shoddy?

Then what? Jerry claims that he likes what they are doing on defense and want to keep the continuity so he sticks another coach with a square peg.

He always thinks he can just assemble everyone into the proper place and it’ll all work.

Other than his ego and being a narcissist I can’t see how any rational human thinks he is any good at this.

But again, it’s about Jerry’s “comfort” level. That’s why we have garbage coaching. The current one just might be the worst ever. Jerry fully deserves to be absolutely humiliated on his way out. No one to blame but himself.

I don't have the guy in mind- but to change things up I'd like to have a rough and tough, blue collar, defensive guy as the next HC.

This team has too many injuries atm to properly evaluate the talent. But we need a speedy back to back up Williams for sure. On defense you already know what we need player wise. Set the friggin edges! and learn to tackle especially the QB! Sheesh we ain't asking for much here. As far as a new head coach we need someone like Tomlin and his OC could be one Tony Romo for all I care.
