This was first season in 3 years I felt hope starting to come back

Honestly, this was the first season in 3 years where I felt actual hope starting to come back. And that's been bashed into the ground. I hated the feeling of not looking forward to a season. I hated the feeling that we had no shot. And this offseason actually gave me hope. We actually seemed to be doing things a better way. But no. Nothing changes. Just spirals down the toilet.

I genuinely don't know what to do. I'm a diehard fan. I genuinely love the Cowboys. But, at the same time, it's hard knowing that this team just doesn't have what it takes.
Shame on you for eating the cheese - again. Will the day ever come that you learn from your mistakes?

Maybe next year you can be a tranny mule; that should give the team some luck. You could be Russalinia. :D

You know what you do? You wait until next year. Think about it, we were 1 yard away from the game being a 31-10 Bucs lead. It should have been 27-10. If not for the stupidity of Todd Bowles, Dallas isn't in the game at the end. This is to a 0-4 team without a QB. I don't think this is something that can be fixed. So we wait until next year. The good news for me is, I can stop wasting vacation days on any future night games this season.

I’m a half-full person and always hope. But like you, I had optimism my hope was likely to be rewarded this year. I saw a different front office approach. Unfortunately, that change in approach hasn’t produced fruit thus far.

I am still hopeful things will turn around. But I have zero faith Shotty can do it. I’ve been neutral on him since his hire, but not now. I don’t expect him to be fired in-season (unless they go on a Wade Phillips situation), but they need to move on after this season. No reason to delay the inevitable.

I am still surprised how many here, and you know who you are just like we know, that feel Jerry can do no wrong....if you criticize him it's because you are a hater, jealous, stupid or all of the above. Go find yourself another team. Most of us caught onto his schtick two decades ago at least. After going through puppet coach after puppet coach. Nothing changed only the faces under his control. He probably thought even he would get lucky once and win something to brag about and confirm his way worked. Well it still hasn't happened and it's too late for him to change without finally accepting the fact he is an idiotic, egotistical, narcissist old man with a toy that he broke regardless of what Forbes says.

The only thing these egomaniacs hate is not what you or i think, it's what his peers and fellow owners think of him....and i betcha they are all laughing at him now and hope he continues to run the Cowboys into the ground. Hope is fine when it's based on rational theories, but when it is not, you got just delusions.

No you did not. You saw the same geriatric 83 year old GM who refuses to step down.
That's definitely true. I guess I just ignored that and focused on other perceived things. But the 83-year-old geriatric has been and will continue to be the highly limiting factor.

Now, I'll really believe thing have changed if Hog Jowls moves on from Marty's boy after this year. And performs a rational process to replace him. I'm not betting on either happening, though.

Honestly, all I asked of this team was to just win the division and maybe make it to the division round. That was literally all I asked. I didn't ask for them to go to the NFCCG. My bar for the Cowboys was very low considering the offseason we had.
This is about what i was thinking before the season, but it has been shot down in flames ! old AC?DC song.
CP sucks And shotty just seems to be over his head.
I think he needed
CP to be good too, and now he is stuck with a guy he hired who is not what he seemed.

I havent totally given up yet,but things are looking bleak.

I am going to pick some other teams to root for that know what they are doing.
And at same time follow Dallas and just not expect anything from them.

That is the bad part, get rid of shotty and jones boys hire no telling who, and they probably wont be any better.

Hope, for any Cowboys fan, can now only come in the form of your age. Are you young enough where you will outlive Jerry and get to see whatever the next chapter for the Cowboys becomes? That's it, that's the only hope. The Jerry chapter of Cowboys history is 100 percent hopeless and will always remain so for as long as he sits up in that box and wears that stupid smug grin and ruins everything.
I was lucky enough to enjoy 4 Cowboy SB's. No more in my future. My anger is directed at Jerry for destroying a once great franchise.

If the internet had existed in TomLandry's early coaching days I wonder what would have been said about him before that 10 year contract was signed and soon after it. Shotty has the pedigree but not the experience Landry had not the pedigree but was just as inexperienced as a head coach as Shotty. The world moves fast these days. Players don't develop they just play immediately like Downs too.

It's the same here. I was so sick of the crap that I actually took the past two seasons off from watching football. Now I'm back, and so is the eye rolling and annoyance. Why did I come back to this punishment?

I wasn't around in his early coaching days, but during the decline of the team in the late 80s, there was plenty of talk on AM radio even if there was no Internet. Night after night people called in saying Landry should be fired.
