I suspect it's pretty important, but not as important as a week 17 game that you have to win to get into the playoffs. If this team goes in there and lays the same kind of egg that it laid against the Bucs, it will kill the players' belief in the team. On the other hand, if they go in and show they can play well, and even win, then maybe they can hang in there in the NFC East. The Commanders and the Eagles aren't looking very good so far. The Giants look a lot better, but they're definitely capable of making bonehead plays, and they did so in their tie with the Commanders.
Another thing is this: If there's any chance that Christian Parker's defense will become any good, it needs time to gel, and a victory would boost their confidence. I'm not holding my breath that they'll develop into a good unit, but if there's even a chance of it happening, they can't get trashed by the opponent this week.
I think another embarrassing loss would hurt this team way more than a loss in which they played great, but the other team just made a few more plays. A win would at least keep them on track with a chance.
