Why do you want to make the playoffs?

Meaningless for who, I missed the conversation
If I’m a player and I lose, it’s not meaningless, I’m pissed and I want to get better
Thats you.

Dak has said hes pissed for years now.

Looks pretty happy to me.

Unless he gets called out by a valet.

I can see the negativity after the game, but the first quarter,?
Thats fair, I try and stay out of those threads. Rather watch the game.

When I am in there I will criticize and cheer when something good happens.

To be fair I am up at 3 am so night games are a non starter for me.

No, that’s ridiculous.

If the Cowboys winning every game is the only reason you watch football, then any misery you experience is self inflicted.

I hate the losses. I avoid watching the lowlights the next day media when we lose. I consume them like I’m starving when we win.

There are a lot of fans here at the Zone who actually relish the losing. They actively root in the game thread and game chat for failure. You can see it every week.

When a drive fails, they spam hahaha and lol and losers! When a touchdown is scored they go silent. If the Cowboys are blowing out the other team, they turn off the tv and may not post for days.

You guys can do your thing but the expectation that other fans should root against the Cowboys is a non-starter for almost all fans.
If you're lumping me in with "you guys"...we have nothing further to discuss. It's lazy, narcisstic and...wrong.

I’m military, I’ve lived with every imaginable personality. You can come across.
How we make it work
You let everybody be themselves, you helped them if they ask
Thank you for understanding,

28 paragraphs. BlueBlood is tha
2.3 paragraphs and I used punctuation thank you very much. I didn't realize 2 small paragraphs was such an offense. I guess if you can't refute someone's argument then you have to attack the way they made it, so I get it.

It’s never personable, and that seems to be a problem for some , people make it personable, not talking about you
Just talking in general,
We’ve asked some good questions and I tried to give honest answers and you gave honest reply, I’m out. Have a good day everyone

So, what we should be trying to accomplish
  • Less televised games
  • Failure on the field
  • Fewer fans who root for the team
  • Current fans rooting for other teams
And you somehow feel that this is going to cause Jerry and Stephen to see the light.
Personally, I have no problem with fans doing whatever they can to either motivate or coerce Jerry Jones into finally being an intelligent owner and ridding his team of an unqualified general manager. He is his own worst enemy for obtaining his goals for his team.

What has always shaken my head are empty words. "I'll turn off the tv." "I'll wish for losses." "I'll root for another team." "I hope other teams' fans will take over the stadium." "I don't give Jerry any of my money." Etc. And do not forget fans devaluing, dismissing, belittling fellow fans for buying team apparel, seeing their favorite team in person, etc.

All blank rhetoric that has and will never make Jones do the right thing. There are people who have acted in real, meaningful ways, though. People like Stephen Gonzalez (link). He didn't make Jones move one millimeter to the light of reason. What he did do was something. He sacrificed one second of his life in doing something that might have--at the very least--made Jones chuckle when he heard the story.

That is what's missing from the forever narrative of forcing Jones to do what he has never wanted to do. What has always been needed are more Stephen Gonzalezes. People who do not go onto sports fansites, type out zero plans, and invalidating other fans' self-worth. It's people that take a day out of their lives and make themselves seen. Those are my heroes in the totally unnecessary neverending fight to slap a tiny bit of common sense into Mad Genius.

I keep seeing this recurring theme here about wanting to make the playoffs, and while I get it, I really dont.

Being on this forum I am convinced a lot of you dont watch other football teams play.

If Dallas squeaks into the playoffs, it will be to get embarrassed nationally. There is no amount of "growth" this defense can have this season that will help them against LA, SF, or a host of other NFC teams that run hard, and play to win.

So other than your own "fan" inside, which makes me question the word because any self respecting fan wouldnt want to just get there so they can be "right".

This team needs an exorcism and the only way that happens is if they lose, a lot, and the NFL pulls their primetime slots.

You want to know when Jerry will care? When that happens.

So please, stop cheering for other teams to lose, get hurt, just so the lowly Cowboys can sneak in to get curb stomped by SF, again.

Or please explain to me why you even want to get there. You know this is going to happen. It is not a what if.
I would say that it keeps the "Honeymoon Period" lasting longer until the team is actually a contender.

The pragmatic fan recognizes when their team isnt up to a championship and wants to see them in a better draft position so they have a chance of more rapid improvement.

Either view works for those particular fans.

What’s the alternative? Miss the playoffs and don’t control your first rounder and get embarrassed or sneak into the playoffs and get embarrassed….not sure if this is a trick question.

I was gonna say I don’t get the options. Both probably ends with us getting embarrassed it’s just whatever your preference is.

Where have all the Cowboys gone , Bob Lilly of the world,
You just said it more elegantly,
