Dallas was playing hot trash defenses. What is Tyler Smith good at? Because the offense and run game was much better with TJ Bass starting.

The offense has been awful the last 2 weeks for sure. And EVERYONE on offense is to blame. It starts with Schotty, then Dak, then the oline, then the weapons. ALL have been terribleI get that, but they haven't been giving up a lot of points on the scoreboard. They've been getting stops. And they've been pretty solid in the first half the last two weeks. If the offense is what they say they are, we have to be coming away with more than 7 points total in the first half in two games.
Dallas was heavily dependent on play-action last year. They don’t run the ball consistently this year. It eas actually funny watching GB last night. You could just watch over and over again how they would show blitz and then drop back in coverage. They were jumping on routes, Dak should have been picked off like 5 times. The playcalling has been questionable to me. Are there really no hot routes or anything we can do against the blitz?
Resources were spent, AFTER or CAUSING Parsons to be let go.The offense is a problem...but stop stop stop. This defense was the worst defense in franchise history...and was on pace to eclipse that. And resources were spent on the 2 DTs, Downs, the rookie DE, Gary, Bland, now Porter Jr..and don't forget Diggs. So let's not get amnesia. They just gave up 250;yards rushing last week!!!
And those resources turned in the worst defense in franchise history...or did I dream that happened?Resources were spent, AFTER or CAUSING Parsons to be let go.
Blocking scheme is ***. Free rushers in his face within seconds. Not sure what the issue is, but teams figured out you can just blit and there's nothing we can do.
Change your post/thread title to: "Schottenheimer is the problem this season", and I will agree with you.Dak Prescott and the offense has been the problem. I know it's easy to rip on the D. But, let's be honest. Dak and the offense have been POOR, especially the last two weeks. The D has actually been improving, and I loved seeing them be more physical today. Not their fault that the offense couldn't score more than 7 in the first half against Tampa, and scored 0 in the first half against GB (even AFTER a pick).
I don't understand why we aren't taking deep shots. We have elite WRs in Lamb and Pickens. If you have WRs like them who thrive in deep passes (like we saw last season), then we SHOULD take a few shots every so often. Even if it doesn't succeed, it plants a seed of doubt in the opposing D, and it gets them to back off. But, for whatever reason, we aren't doing that. We're just dinking and dunking with WRs who are capable of more than that. But then, tonight, the one time they tried that, Dak threw it right to the Packers after we got a pick.
So, I'm afraid that I'm going to have to say it. I like Dak. But, it's time to find the next franchise QB. This team clearly doesn't have a spark. The offense looks woeful, despite over $100 mil allocated to that side in cap space ($60M of which to the QB). I think the time has come for 1. Us to get a more proper HC (maybe someone like Sean McDermott) and 2. It's time to find the next QB. I think we'd sit the rookie a year behind Dak to learn the pro game, but I think 2027 has to be the last year. Dak looks to be regressing.
My ONE concern is that I DO NOT want Archie Manning. But, I am concerned/expecting Jerry to draft him for his last name to try to sell him as the next franchise QB.
No doubt this offense was expected to carry this team and up until the last couple weeks has provided the only hope of winning some games.Dak Prescott and the offense has been the problem. You've got to stop listening to those posters. The time to do it was when we had Lance for one more year. We could have cut ties with Dak and started Lance. Then with a top 5 pick draft a QB and be purged of Dak’s contract. When I suggested this repeatedly during Dak’s contract negotiations I was called a “hater” amount other things. Now 2 years later it’s painfully obvious we’re not going anywhere and we have this contract hanging over our heads.
Dak was bad, but the playcalling did him no favors. And to beat the blitz, you gotta make plays. I'm seeing too many vertical routes again. Why do we always go back to that?No doubt this offense was expected to carry this team and up until the last couple weeks has provided the only hope of winning some games.
I think there’s several contributing factors happening. One . We simply are more effective with the lead . When we get behind by a couple scores abandon the run and become one dimensional which allows defenses to turn their ears back and blitz. And we don’t handle the pressure well. Part of that is Dak , play calling and part is OL.
How to fix it. We must be more effective running ball early and scoring not getting behind keeping pace . Overall we’ve been too slow on offense in 1st half last two games.
Long term plans . As much as I’d like to draft heir apparent that’s not happening. And Dak is under no trade contract thru 2028. He’s not going anywhere.

Correct, because we are not running the type of routes to beat the blitz. We were already asking before this game, where are the crosses and slants?Teams used to blitz before and this team, both Dak and the OL were good with it.
The Packers weren’t just blitzing, they were showing blitz and dropping men in coverage multiple times. These last 2 weeks, both secondaries weren’t afraid to play Pickens and Lamb in man as well.
If we had a mobile QB we could do some roll out type things.Blocking scheme is ***. Free rushers in his face within seconds. Not sure what the issue is, but teams figured out you can just blit and there's nothing we can do.
