Dak Prescott and the offense has been the problem

Everyone is always so quick to pile on Dak after a pathetic loss. I think he is going to develop into a very good NFL QB. Remember these things take time. I wouldn't expect any QB to look like a world beater this early in his career. That is very rare. Give him another 3 or 4 seasons and I bet you all will be singing a different tune.

I get that, but they haven't been giving up a lot of points on the scoreboard. They've been getting stops. And they've been pretty solid in the first half the last two weeks. If the offense is what they say they are, we have to be coming away with more than 7 points total in the first half in two games.
The offense has been awful the last 2 weeks for sure. And EVERYONE on offense is to blame. It starts with Schotty, then Dak, then the oline, then the weapons. ALL have been terrible

The playcalling has been questionable to me. Are there really no hot routes or anything we can do against the blitz?
Dallas was heavily dependent on play-action last year. They don’t run the ball consistently this year. It eas actually funny watching GB last night. You could just watch over and over again how they would show blitz and then drop back in coverage. They were jumping on routes, Dak should have been picked off like 5 times.

The offense has been figured out these past two games. The telling indicator last night was Dak’s first pick.

The offense is a problem...but stop stop stop. This defense was the worst defense in franchise history...and was on pace to eclipse that. And resources were spent on the 2 DTs, Downs, the rookie DE, Gary, Bland, now Porter Jr..and don't forget Diggs. So let's not get amnesia. They just gave up 250;yards rushing last week!!!
Resources were spent, AFTER or CAUSING Parsons to be let go.

If I am a DC with Dallas on the schedule, I am dialing up a 50% blitz rate or more and I am going to sacrifice a roughing the passer penalty or two early. You get a hit or two on Dak early and that guy is full on panic mode the rest of the game. He had two interceptions last night but could have had at least 3 more.

Blocking scheme is ***. Free rushers in his face within seconds. Not sure what the issue is, but teams figured out you can just blit and there's nothing we can do.

Teams used to blitz before and this team, both Dak and the OL were good with it.

The Packers weren’t just blitzing, they were showing blitz and dropping men in coverage multiple times. These last 2 weeks, both secondaries weren’t afraid to play Pickens and Lamb in man as well.

Dak Prescott and the offense has been the problem. I know it's easy to rip on the D. But, let's be honest. Dak and the offense have been POOR, especially the last two weeks. The D has actually been improving, and I loved seeing them be more physical today. Not their fault that the offense couldn't score more than 7 in the first half against Tampa, and scored 0 in the first half against GB (even AFTER a pick).

I don't understand why we aren't taking deep shots. We have elite WRs in Lamb and Pickens. If you have WRs like them who thrive in deep passes (like we saw last season), then we SHOULD take a few shots every so often. Even if it doesn't succeed, it plants a seed of doubt in the opposing D, and it gets them to back off. But, for whatever reason, we aren't doing that. We're just dinking and dunking with WRs who are capable of more than that. But then, tonight, the one time they tried that, Dak threw it right to the Packers after we got a pick.

So, I'm afraid that I'm going to have to say it. I like Dak. But, it's time to find the next franchise QB. This team clearly doesn't have a spark. The offense looks woeful, despite over $100 mil allocated to that side in cap space ($60M of which to the QB). I think the time has come for 1. Us to get a more proper HC (maybe someone like Sean McDermott) and 2. It's time to find the next QB. I think we'd sit the rookie a year behind Dak to learn the pro game, but I think 2027 has to be the last year. Dak looks to be regressing.

My ONE concern is that I DO NOT want Archie Manning. But, I am concerned/expecting Jerry to draft him for his last name to try to sell him as the next franchise QB.
Change your post/thread title to: "Schottenheimer is the problem this season", and I will agree with you.
He calls the plays.
Btw, Mike McCarthy won 12 games 3 different times with the same "problem" that Schotttenheimer has.

No doubt this offense was expected to carry this team and up until the last couple weeks has provided the only hope of winning some games.

I think there’s several contributing factors happening. One . We simply are more effective with the lead . When we get behind by a couple scores abandon the run and become one dimensional which allows defenses to turn their ears back and blitz. And we don’t handle the pressure well. Part of that is Dak , play calling and part is OL.

How to fix it. We must be more effective running ball early and scoring not getting behind keeping pace . Overall we’ve been too slow on offense in 1st half last two games.

Long term plans . As much as I’d like to draft heir apparent that’s not happening. And Dak is under no trade contract thru 2028. He’s not going anywhere.

"Are you Clarence?" That is a sad, sad, sad response by the PFWA's 2026 Good Guy Award winner to a very relevant question.

You make the claim of being the 'Greatest Offense There Is'. Four combined touchdowns versus the Buccaneers and Packers. GOTI netted no less than three touchdowns against the Giants, Washington, Ravens, and Texans each. THAT'S a notable two-week dropoff in offensive production. The question was completely legit.

Don't be flippant. The national media recognized you with an actual award as 'an NFL player for his qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their jobs'. You and too many people in this organization talk too much. Don't stop now. Live up to the media's expectation and provide a straight answer right then right there without the sarcasm.

The time to do it was when we had Lance for one more year. We could have cut ties with Dak and started Lance. Then with a top 5 pick draft a QB and be purged of Dak’s contract. When I suggested this repeatedly during Dak’s contract negotiations I was called a “hater” amount other things. Now 2 years later it’s painfully obvious we’re not going anywhere and we have this contract hanging over our heads.
You've got to stop listening to those posters.

Dak was bad, but the playcalling did him no favors. And to beat the blitz, you gotta make plays. I'm seeing too many vertical routes again. Why do we always go back to that?

Damn, Dak went fron top 5, to Jalen Hurts without the ring.

This season sucks.

And Jethro doesn’t like QB controversies. He spelled this out back with Romo and the rumors of drafting Manziel as heir apparent. He’s sticking with his QB until he doesn’t . Only then will he bring in new or draft another QB.

And when Dak emerged while Romo was hurt. Jethro quickly disposed of Romo dismissing any opportunities for a QB controversy.

In Honor of your Dak is the Problem thread . . .

Correct, because we are not running the type of routes to beat the blitz. We were already asking before this game, where are the crosses and slants?

Sure wish we had Schultz back. Wonder if all those Fergie supporters from back then now understand how important it is to be able to get open?
