If Tony Romo's name was Dan Marino and he had critical errors in big games with very little post season success, no, he shouldn't be paid like a top QB.

What about all those other games he won to get you to that "critical game"

People forget that last year the entire final month of the regular season were essentially playoff games. Romo gets no credit from you jokers for winning 3 of the 4 games leading up to the Commanders game (all 3 of those games were comeback wins led by Romo)....and in the game he lost mind...he threw for 416 yards with 4 tds and no interceptions.

No with you jokers he only gets blame for losing the Commanders game. Everything else that happened before that you're too simple to remember.

Nevermind that virtually every statistic shows that Romo performs exceptionally well in 4th quarters and it's hard to be a choker with 5 comeback wins last year on your resume.

Everytime people insult Romo with nonsense you really make yourself seem small, unintelligent, petty and spoiled.

Tupperware, are you small, unintelligent, petty and spoiled?

I think this is where Romo comes into play b/c I don't think he's an elite red zone QB. Just my opinion, I've used statistics to back this up, it is what it is.
No you didn't. You threw out some random numbers while ignoring context and other statistics which contradicted your point. But yeah keep on keeping on.

I used to defend him until the bitter end, just like you. I'm tired of the statistics and the talking. I want wins, period.

You see that's the difference between us. I'm not "defending Romo to the bitter end"...whatever the heck that means.

I'm just pointing out inconsistencies in your argument. Romo has been from an objective point of view amongst the top 5 qbs in the league for 6 straight seasons. It's why he has gotten paid. Those comeback wins are why he is paid. The numbers he puts up is why he is paid.

If we only gave top money to players who won a superbowl....there would be a lot of "poor" players.

Quit quoting me. I have no interest debating a drive by poster.

Matt Ryan got a sweeter money deal than Romo. He's 1-4 in the playoffs with arguably a better team, coaching, and GM. Its just the economic reality. Top franchise QBs get paid a lot. Besides Romo will likely never see 100 mil so snidely calling him that is just foaming at the mouth silliness

You have your opinion and I have mine. I've never said he wasn't a good QB. I've never said he hasn't done the things you've said. But for my money and the mistakes that have been made in pivotal games...

We're going to have to agree to disagree. There is nothing you can say to change my mind. I've had enough with the failures on this team and it's open season on anyone on this team. My last straw was the pick last year against the Commanders.

I think Romo look good.
But that overthrow to Williams is why I just can't trust him.
I am sure he has made that hook up before, but can he make them in a win and in scenario??

Romo has the highest rated game in a loss in NFL history. 2011 vs Giants. The defense threw that game away plus dumb penalties. But all people remember is an incomplete pass the WR failed on.

At that point I realized it's always gonna be Romo 's fault. I know for a fact there are some supposed cowboys fans who root for him to fail because they're so invested in predicting he will never win the big one. I feel sorry for those types. Hate is blinding

I'd be overjoyed to be blasted and look like an idiot if the team goes to and wins a Superbowl, whether Romo is the main reason or not.

So Williams slowing way down on his route makes you not trust Romo? That's interesting...He may have overthrown him anyway, but just assuming an overthrown ball is all on the QB is just ignorant.

This isn't compton. It's a message board. Perhaps you should take a break?

Perhaps you should take a break from quoting me. I have no issues debating posters who I vehemently disagree with. Posters like yourself, that make drive by comments then hide when cornered are a waste of time. Scram...

I don't think Romo ever does wrong in your eyes. Your crush on him fails you to criticize any part of his game. Its always someone else's error.... sigh.

I suggest actually reading. I said he very well may have overthrown him regardless. RIF...

"very well may have"...CMON MAN. I promise you Romo will not hate you if you admit he overthrew Williams.

*facepalm* Let my try to explain this again for you.....I said he likely would have overthrown him regardless. Acknowledging that Williams slowed to a jog after he beat his defender is not removing quilt from Romo. That's being reasonable to the entire situation and not just blaming Romo for the sake of blaming Romo.

When was I cornered? I'm happy to go back and comment on anything I missed. But that never happened.

But again i'd be happy to finish an imaginary conversation we had so you can't use said imaginary conversation to duck my most recent response in this thread.

Namely, you thought I was drinking koolaid and we can only take positive things away from the preseason...which of course isn't my stance.

You can evaluate players. Hence optimism around the oline. You can't evaluate offensive gameplan. Because you don't see it.

You'd know this if you understood what the preseason was for. But clearly...you don't.

LOL @ "drive by posters".
