Impressed by Manzeil

This is not a replace Romo thread. But I have to say that, before this week's Alabama game, I thought Manzeil was a gimmick and would not be successful in the NFL. But the game convinced me he can be a pocket passer with all the running skills of RGIII. He made very accurate throws outside the numbers and down the field. Immaturity concerns aside, I wonder if Jerry will be too tempted in Round 2 next year? Not advocating the move, but I could see Jerry doing it to enliven the fan base after another 8-8 season.

When you roll up 500 total yards on Nick Saban and Alabama you better be taken seriously.

If we draft Manziel, you better board up your windows cause I am coming for you.

Was more impressed with AJ McCarron in that game to be honest. Down by 14, in College Station, to come back and win it was very impressive. 4 TDs, no INTs.

Well when he's in the NFL he can be paid for his signature.

Oh wait. He already has.

I would rather they pass on him.

Much better WRs and RBs. That's what moves the ball in college.

LOL.. In your opinion. TAM has plenty of talent at both of those positions. Sorry, I don't buy that. And for the record, Pro or College, it's line play and QB play that wins games.

I agree. He's not flashy like JM but he was great last Saturday. Very impressive.

A&M's defense has been lit up by Rice and Sam Houston St., so it isn't too surprising Alabama did the same. McCarron has some value, but he isn't a starting NFL quality QB. He looks like a career backup, which ain't a bad job if you can get one. I don't know what Manziel is at this point.

Perhaps, but Bama's offense hasn't exactly started the world on fire so far this year either. To be able to put up the points they did was pretty impressive considering, IMO.

I think we have to wait and see on McCarron. I mean, you may very well be right Josee but there may be something there. He's only thrown 9 picks since becoming a starter at Bama. He takes care of the football and that's a pretty valuable commodity at the next level.

A&M's defense is terrible. They may be slightly below average by the end of the season, but right now they're 112th in FBS in total defense. Not hard for teams to put yardage and points up against A&M's D, which means it's really hard to tell how impressive McCarron was on Saturday, IMO.

I was impressed with Mike Evans, not so much by Johnny Football
That kid looks the part of a NFL receiver, that's for sure.

Like other college QBs, Manziel's stats are really inflated by the spread offense they run. I
