can you be a bust in the second year?

I don't know ask Scandrick people have been claiming him as a bust. lol Scandrick has been playing great and the Cowboys evidently are going to play the guy who is playing better ball and if Claiborne wants his job back then he will have to earn it. It is funny this is something fans around here have hollered about before and now instead of appluding it this turns into he is a bust and this is the same old thing every year type BS.

According to ESPN Dallas, Claiborne has lost his starting CB job to Scandrick.

According to Pro Football Focus, he has graded out this year as the 99th of 101 qualifying CBs. Last year, he graded out as 83rd among 113 qualifying CBs. This, on top of having multiple injuries over the past two year.

He is yet another glaring draft mistake Jerry made by being blinded by "shiny things" (skill position players) and not drafting the trenches.

Good. Hopefully it'll allow him to learn the ropes without all the added pressure of being a starter.

I'm not ready to call him a bust quite yet but I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry & co. draft a CB next year that fits this scheme a bit better than Mo.

Didn't he seperate his shoulder? If he can't jam a Wr, he is limited. I don't believe at all that he is a bust.

Garbage!

What more will it take? Your eyes are not good enough?

We are talking about a 5th round pick compared with a 1st round pick taken 5th overall . (and we gave a 2nd rounder for him ) . Are you seriously comparing a 1st rounder who has LOST games for us to a 5th round cb ?

A 5th rounder is a crap shot , a 1st rounder is suppose to be an immediate impact starting player .

Scandrick has been starting in place of Claiborne because of Claiborne's bum shoulder. This is more ESPN sensationalism. Garrett said today he thinks Claiborne's problems are correctable and the result of injury and all the time missed in camp.

However, I think the new scheme has hurt him. Claiborne wasn't a difference maker as a rookie, but he really wasn't bad either in Rob Ryan's press-man defense. I think Scandrick is grading out as the Cowboys' best corner because his background in the slot helps him play better in a zone scheme.

He will still be on the field. Denver is going to make us go to our nickel defense and we will have Mo, Scandrick and Carr on the field. Our pass rush has to get there. IMO we have to blitz Manning, A gap cross blitz, over load blitzes to one side or another, if Rivers lays down a four hundred yard day on us, think of what Manning will do.

The Cowboys likely would have taken Mark Barron had they not traded up for Mo. Hard to tell by the stats how Barron has done anyone been following his progress?

true but should the same argument then not apply when Romo is compared to first round draft choices and said not to be measuring up?

it is only Claiborne second year there is still time for him to turn it around and be a great corner. this is just a setback for him he has the skills to be a great corner. he just needs his confidence back. I am not and I am sure the coaches are not giving up on him.

This just solidifies my belief that drafting a supposed to be great college player who played on a team loaded with talent doesn't work.

Perhaps all the talent around him made him better than he actually was.

Barbie Carpenter comes to mind. Sanchez and Leinert as well.

You can argue both ways, but I think it happens more often than not.

Terrance Newman was great, Mike Jenkins was good and Mo is just awful.

I know his combine measurables arent THAT far off from Peterson's, but Mo just doesnt look athletic out there. He doesnt seem like a smooth athlete. I wonder if Jerrah was listening to his old boy Lacewell when he made this trade.

Mike Jenkins 2.0

The guy refuses to tackle and stick his nose in a pile. Numerous times last week he just held the WR hoping for some help to come make the tackle for him. Teams are gonna continue to run right @ him because he continues to give up on plays instead of getting down and making a tackle.
