Can Randle carry the load?

Just wondering what everyone thinks about Randle? I know he hasn't played much but he looks fast out there. Don't know why but, IMO, I don't see that big a drop off going from Murray to Randle since I'm beginning to think Murray is just an average back. Our line is beginning to gel and so the RB should have his chances. If he secures the ball well, this worries me for some reason, I think Randle will surprise many. I'm not sure when Dunbar comes back so I'm assuming Randle is the man for awhile.

PS. We will beat the Eagles. You read it here first.

I don't think Randle needs to do much this game, except have the right plays called for him. Draws from shotgun, screens, throws in the flat. We don't need him to pound it up the gut, we just need him making a few yards at a time whenever his # is called out of the backfield.

Lots of discussion on this earlier. Might want to just review some of those threads but to answer your question, I think that it would be very tough for him to step into Murray's role and fill it. I think we need a combination of efforts from Tanner, Dunbar and Randle to give us what we've lost with Murray.

He just needs to take care of the ball and he will be okay. No turnovers = success. I think he will do fine.

I disagree. Murray is a good back and Randle will have his problems this week. Murray could be a top 5 back if he could stay healthy. Problem is, he can't even with limited touches. He runs to contact and sometimes loses.

I know what you mean about Murray just bulldozing people. I don't think Murray is much of a cut back runner so his style is to just put his head down and try to run through tackles. I think we need to seriously look at RB in the offseason because I don't know if we have a decent reliable back on the team if Randle/Dunbar don't pan out......

The real question is, when will Dunbar be ready? He's a better running back than the other three as a pure runner.

I'm not sure that he is a better runner than Randle.... just more practiced. I think when all is said and done, we are gonna be really happy with Randle.

Randle seems instinctive, waiting for the play to develop, he is a different type runner than Demarco, his vision is good, not the quickest though.

Not really sure what we have in Randle, The little I did see against Washington didn't impress me much but with a week of practice & knowing your going to get PT this Sunday, hopefully we can see some positives in our running game. We are playing the Eagles who defense isn't exactly world beaters.

the question should be, "Can Randle protect Romo?"

well if Randle can't handle it this week it just means we need to look for another rb in the later rounds of the draft next year, personally I just hope he hangs onto the ball & doesn't miss on his blitz pickups

Randle will make mistakes, he is a rookie so lets not jump on his throat when something bad happens, ie Terrance Williams fumble at goalline vs SD. Gotta take the good with the bad, I am excited to see what he can do for us when he gets the touches and chances to make plays.

He better be able to carry the load, if not it's going to look like we dumped a load.

Randle won't be carrying much of a load the Cowboys will be throwing most of the time.

Maybe, maybe not. Randle has the height to put on more muscle mass. The question is, can he? If he can, if he can get stronger, then he can start running through a lot of those tackles that stop him today. He's got some skills, he's just not very physical IMO and that's something we can try to improve.

a) Murray is well above an average back

b) There will be a substantial drop off going from Murray to Randle

c) I read that we'll beat the Eagles in another post prior to yours. Oh yeah, mine.
