For me, it's Romo. I can't think of a player who has split the fan base more than he has. I think that the problem with him is that the topic is so incredibly black and white, there's simply no gray area. Can you think of a player who has split the fan base more than Romo?

how many decades have the cowboys span? and you think the most recent? why, because of hte social media? Are you familar with the older players? talked with older cowboys fans? what era are we talking here? Why just recently should we care? Whats the point of the thread? What would it matter?

Honestly - I think I am in the grey area here. I like what I see in Romo 90% of the time.........but I hate the thought of him under the pressure of a big game. I mean, I obviously WANT to see the guy win, but he has done very little to gain my confidence in his ability to win a huge game. Romo under pressure, for me anyways, leaves a lot to be desired. That can certainly change though.

Very good quality QB, but there comes a time when you need to get to that next level if you want to be considered in the top echelon. He hasn't earned that yet. He may very well get there though. He's now got some good tools to work with.

Just what have Romo done to be controversial?

I think he stopped hte greatness of that of Quincy Carter. Tho i really have no idea. I still cant fathom why a fanbase is irked about the next qb after Troy Aikman and they quickly forgot the people who was manning the postion until Tony Romo showed up and said "hey guys, its not that hard". Tho i appreciate Teseverde and dare i say Bledsoe, but the timing was all wrong. The least said of the others, the happier we are.

Not surprised the ticket scalper has made another I hate Romo thread. Dude is obsessed.

Haha, not sure this qualifies as a "hate thread". And as far as being a ticket scalper, I guess I'm doing it all wrong, I've only missed 2 games in the last 5 years. You're a funny guy.

He himself has done nothing controversial, he appears to be a quality person both on and off the field. The topic of Tony Romo is nothing but controversial, as evidence by this thread. As soon as you bring up Romo, you either hear "hater" or "homer", people just get so incredibly fired up, and there's virtually no middle ground.

Owens, Henderson, and Thomas were controversial players. Romo's not even close to being the most controversial player in Dallas history. It's been said before, but Romo makes a useful standard for judging someone's football knowledge/interest/intelligence.

I forgot all about Henderson.

Got to be Hollywood Henderson or Lance Rentzel.
