Art Briles receives contract extension through 2023

um no, I never sited a tweet or granted it as a source or authority, that's called a strawman, the laziest of fallacies. So correcting the usage of it I'd hardly out of line.

My point still stands. Not everyone who disputes you or does not bow down to all things Baylor is against it or you.

An irrelevant tangent to this thread, you also appear to be a poor or at least inconsistent judge of tone based on where you like to step in and moderate.

Putting words in my mouth as the refuted poster does of course mandate rebuttal, the only other person on here that gets any firm reply is a troll, your own tone and "point" in the last two posts are pretty meritless and accusative without any due reason.

My point still stands and the proof has been in the pudding over a long period of time. You do not have to white Knight Baylor in all things and anyone that does not agree with you concerning Baylor is not a troll.

Um no, basically you've refuted nothing but accused much. Did the poster rebuked predicate an argument on a strawman and attribute it to me? Yes he did. Has a troll in broken English bombarded this forum whenever someone mentions Baylor? Yes.

Have you asserted anything more than conjecture or disproven the before mentioned facts? No, you're a very inconsistent moderator if all of the sudden you're concerned about civility given the fact I've done nothing wrong but rebut a falsehood, thanks for hijacking the thread though, real worthwhile.

First you said it "has been reported" that the buyout was $20 million, then you said "insiders" were bantering about it. What you fail to realize is that the $20 million rumor you are hanging your hat on STARTED from the tweet I am referring to. No strawman there. Just the facts, sir.

No, what you conject is that is the source, what you therefore project onto others is your false assumption. A strawman. Just the facts, sir.

And truly, how asinine can you be, who between us is more likely to be connected to inside sources at Baylor? All you can do is point to a tweet, declare it the source without any evidence and claim case closed. Very clumsy argument, and that's being charitable with your "facts".

Dude, you don't have any sources. Stop it. The $20 million thing started on Twitter, then the Baylor message board "insiders" jumped on it and claimed it was true. Now you are rushing to defend it as an irrefutable fact. I don't think any coach in college football has a reported buyout of higher than like $6 million, but you really expect people to believe that Baylor and Briles decide to just tack $14 million on top of that? How dense are you? And you want to talk about asinine....

And truly, who between us is more likely to believe such an asinine rumor? A Baylor honk who clings to it because that inflated number is the only thing that helps reassure him of his pipedream fantasy that Art Briles is really going to stay at Baylor for the rest of his career, or a clear-headed, logical-thinking, unbiased person like myself?

doubling down with a diatribe isn't going to elevate your argument, or rather your lack thereof one, your posts in this thread remain asinine conjecture you promote as fact

Just spoke with the son of a Baylor regent, putting speculation of buyout to rest, it is to the sum of 5 million PER YEAR to buy him out, meaning it would be mighty pricy to buyout that contract seeming there are ten years on it, my apologies for thinking it might be 20 million, turns out it is substantially higher to do so unless you wait 6 years, then it will be 20 million.
