I know you want him gone... but I got some bad news.

I do, I really do but believe me I would love for him to prove us doubters wrong and go out and win this last two games and maybe even a win in the playoffs but I just don´t see it. And I do believe that he is gone if we miss the playoffs,
I don´t hate the guy just to hate, I really think he is a bad HC, nothing personal

I actually like the guy. I do want whats best for Dallas to become a better team and I hope that changing coaches again isnt the move that it takes. If thats what works, fine. I actaully like the guy despite his obvious mistakes. Personally I think the players like him as well and play hard for him.
I guess the story will be written in the next 2 weeks as far as the future of JG in Dallas.

1. Landry (SBs, Championship games, Consecutive winning seasons and playoff appearences, consistenly good from 1966-1985)
2. Johnson (His teams were always ready to play, dominant once he got it going, should be in HOF for how he turned the franchise around alone)
3. Parcells (Should have stayed one more year, maybe Romo has a SB ring)

4-8 havent really given a thought to...Switzer was one of 500 coaches, shows you how talented those teams were...Gailey and Campo forgettable...and Garrett next two weeks will tell if their Brass or not....

Agree, and I hate him as a HC not as a person, actually he seems like a great guy.
At the end of the day we want the same thing, a HC who leads us to the playoffs and a superbowl, if that's Garrett then so be it if not hopefully the next guy is.

Switzer was not a coach here, he was a very poor baby sitter.

I don't disagree with that, but I gave him extra credit for winning a Super Bowl just the same.

1. Landry
2. Johnson

After that is nothing but a blur.

I wish it was a blur!!

Fixed it for ya :)

LOL....nah, I still think Campo was worse. We forget sometimes......

Are we talking entire career?

1. Parcells
2. Jimmy
3. Landry

No, just their tenure with the Cowboys.

I rarely post if ever , but anybody who thinks Bill Parcells is a better coach than Landry is not looking at the evidence. Landry created the 4 3 DEFENSE. He basically set the standard for longevity and excellence that made us all Cowboy fans in the first place.

If you put Tony Romo on Dave Campo's teams, is he worth at least three more wins a year?

Dave Campo was a bad coach--no question there--but his teams were bereft of talent and I don't recall many statistically improbable losses during his tenure. The Cowboys lost because they sucked all over.

True although he was a guy who with eight minutes to go and down 16 thought it best to pick the PAT as it would be easier to score three times than two 8 point TDs, we ended up losing by two points.

He also punted with under two minutes to go and only two timeouts left against the Giants thinking it better than going for it on 4th down.

Still, his teams had nothing and fought hard just about every game.

5.Switzer, even though he won a sb, he wasn't here long enough
4. Parcells, did a great job bringing in talent, but didn't do a great job coaching it
3.Wade Phillips, everyone kills him, but he won games.
2. Jimmy
1. Landry

People are rating Phillips way too high and Gailey too low. Too much revisionist history with Phillips as a result of Garrett sucking badly. Phillips was a joke.

He had a 13 win season,an 11 win season, getting our only playoff win in 17 years, and a 9 win season, in which romo missed three games. He was a pretty successful joke.

I will only name those that I have seen since I've been a fan.

1.) Jimmy Johnson - was a win at all cost kind of coach. wish we had him for more than only a few years. What a shame.
2.) Bill Parcells - how he got the 2003 team to the playoffs is beyond me. I thought he did well overall in changing the culture. I really wanted one more year from him. I truly believe we would have gone further in 2007 with Parcells. But thats just me.
3.) Wade Phillips - Call him cupcake or whatever but he got a lot out of his players and somehow was able to manage T.O and made sure we got the most out of him. He did get them to play at a high level (2010 the exception), but never at a championship level. First coach since Barry Switzer to lead Cowboys to a playoff victory.
4.) Barry Switzer - Honestly, the 94 & 95 Cowboys team could have won a super bowl without a head coach, they were crazy good. Some dumb coaching decisions cost us in 94, and somehow he didn't get in the way in 1995. He was a great college coach though.
5.) Chan Gailey - Honestly I don't remember much. He got them to the playoffs two years in a row, though with nothing to show for it. How do we lose to the cardinals, @ home after we had just gone the entire season undefeated in the division? Stupid
6.) Jason Garrett - He's not done yet so he could move up, but as of today he belongs here in my opinion. At least Gailey got to the playoffs. He's got a team that should at least be making the playoffs every year, and its just not happening.
7.) Dave Campo - I almost put Campo ahead of Garrett, but just like garrett, he was consistent (consistently bad) 3 straight 5-11 seasons will do it. They seemed to have turned a corner in 2002, most games were very close but still could not get over that hump. I did feel bad for him though, his first game as coach was the pickle juice game. What a nightmare game that was.
