Stephen Jones said Cowboys need to fix the front 7

Crawford is just a camp body as far as we know. I wouldn't count on him being any more than that at this point.

So the guy says something the entire board has asked for and he is mocked. The team had a great D-line going into the season with some serious depth. Spencer - Hatcher- Ratliff- Ware - Bass - Crawford. 4 of these guys never played more than 2 games for the cowboys. No matter how deep you are you can't cover those injuries.

Just ignore it man ... everyone is just frustrated and angry right now. Give it a month or two and people will start concentrating on the off-season and the upcoming free agency, draft, etc. People, including myself, are just too angry and upset to talk about next year right now

We know nothing about Bass and Crawford. They have no more experience than the players who replaced them. Ratliff was never going to play for this team again--everybody knew that--and didn't exactly light it up in Chicago. Spencer is the only known loss, and he wasn't the difference between the worst defense in Cowboys history and even a middling NFL defense.

Packers say hi.

The hate in this thread is well founded, but the plan in June was to have a healthy Ratliff, Spencer and Crawford. There is no way of knowing if that WOULD have worked out, but having three of those guys out before game most definitely was more than any contingency could reasonably have addressed in the offseason. The question now is whether Spencer can be or SHOULD be negotiated to stay.

I'd love to say now, but who are we going to replace them all with?

IIRC Garrett wasn't too pleased when they made the Esobar pick...

yeah, the two TE set is Jerry's innovation and he introduced it to Garrett's playbook and Hanna was just another one of Jerry's picks... I guess we really wanted to keep Bennett...

He mentioned Tyrone Crawford coming back will help
Amazing. He was a marginal contributor in his rookie season and that is the extent of what he has done. They are acting like he is some perennial Pro Bowler.

Oh yes, I forgot. Hatcher boasted he would be in the Hall of Fame one day, so there's that.

I guess Jerry didn't over-rule Jason to get Frederik.. Jason wanted him all along...

Not to defend the condescending posts but a lot of posters begged (by forum, of course) the Cowboys to draft impact youth for the d-line last year and the year before. All they got (from Jerry) was that the Cowboys had Ware, Hatcher, Spencer, and Rat, never mind the fact that all were already in their golden years.

Crawford was taken in the second round. I really don't think its that far off to expect he could grow into a contributor.

I remember the days when Garret homers were telling us it's only a matter of time Stephen Jones rights this ship when his father steps down... I bet you Stephen and Jason were buddies growing up, which is why the ship hasn't sailed on Garrett.

Love this post. The rest of the board does this(whine, whine, whine) ALL THE TIME.

when you let your boy Garrett draft another TE for the twelth consecutive time, what are you going to tell us?

The crazy thing is we don't know who to blame. Is it Garrett, Jerry, Stephen, the scouts? Who's making the decisions? Everybody says Jerry, then I see a lot of Garrett hate (tired of him myself) when a player or philosophy doesn't pan out. We need clearly defined responsibilities, therefore accountability. I wish Jerry wasn't so stubborn.
