Once Al Davis died the new front office cut all the fat from the roster and this season had 49 mil in dead money. Next year they will have close to 70 mil in cap space. It's time for Dallas to do the same but we still have Al at the helm.

And they'll never every dollar to be a decent team.

Cap space does not win games.

They brought in Reggie McKenzie from Green Bay as the new GM -- a Ted Thompson disciple.

He is stripping the club down to nothing and rebuilding almost exclusively through the draft via the Ted Thompson way.

70 million is a great deal, they will most likely be players this year.

Ugh. I hate when people compare our cap situation to teams without a franchise quarterback (or teams with a qb on his rookie contract).

To be fair, a lot of the dead money involves other players as well. I hear the Romo argument, we should always remain in contention, but our dead money isn't tied to productive players (maybe outside of Witten and it being too early to cut Carr if need be).

We have to mortgage our future by clutching to this great 8-8 squad we have assembled.

Don't forget to lump in our 8-8 pet coaching project who is receiving OJT from Jerry Jones himself.

Oakland might eventually win one day but it isn't likely soon.
They aren't the model for anything. They've won 4 games two seasons in a row. And they have few quality young players.

They'll build through the draft because high cost free agents have no shot to win or succeed there.

McKenzi did what had to be done. The difference is he realized that core was never going to get it done, cleared the decks, went through the pain, and now they are ready to move forward. Same thing has to happen here it some point, just putting off the inevitable.
