Here's what I got from the championship games

Wait you think the Patriots play good defense? They looked as bad as us pretty much and ranked in the bottom of the league.

Denver is not that much better. Romo threw for 500yds on them and many other teams have had success on them.
 
Brady plays with an average defense and had to school his receivers almost all year long, he made it to the AFC Championship. Not saying Romo wouldn't do the same with that team but not with this team, to many business men in the older core. There is no disputing the results over the past few seasons, Romo has won a lot of games on his own, and Romo has lost more than a couple on his own, the offense was made friendly for him, he had a hand in designing it, he audibles whenever he wants, and they even target players to benefit him, what more does he need? A defense... But that doesn't mean he won't have Tony OHNO moments just have a defense t bail him out. Team sport but QB gets the big bucks to be what Tom Brady is on the field nothing less.
 
What I got from the games today...............that the Cowboys have some work to do and it isn't something that can be fixed in one off-season, probably even two. If and when the defense gets corrected, our offensive players will only be that much older, mainly Romo and Witten. We could be down to two viable O linemen in Smith and Fred, who knows what the future holds for the other three spots.

Basically, I still can't seem to find the direction/philosophy that this team is heading towards. Are they going for a great defense? Are they simply wanting one that can compete? Is the offense going to be our strength? I have no idea...................

As of now, Dallas is on the verge of being a playoff team but is still a few levels below the upper echelon teams. Until this team is dominant on one side, we will continue to see the same results, +/- a game or two.

If Romo was healthy and on the 49ers they would be in the Superbowl...three years in a row. Starting with when Alex Smith took them to the NFC Championship.

That is a good team lacking a real QB who can carry some of the load and make good decisions.

I love this logic when Romo has never won anything ever. But for some reason, he's held in such high regard and would easily be in the Super Bowl with other teams.

So would geno smith...., Foles, rivers, cutler, Bradford, etc etc etc...
 
Typical Romo haters focusing on "Romo's" lack of success when both Super Bowl representatives make it to the Super Bowl by holding their opponents to 17,16, 15 and 17 points in their playoff games.

I do not feel like posting it again but go look what happens to playoff QBs when their teams allow more than 21 points or more versus 20 points or less.

It is no reach to say so.

You may be right about Rivers, and Foles, .. but not with Smith, Cutler or Bradford. They aren't as good as Romo.
 
I think the main problem is that Romo has a hard time even getting to the playoffs. Romo is a great numbers QB. Cant downplay his impact on the team and the game. He has the ability to win games for the team, but its no coincidence that he has faltered in high pressure situations with big stakes on the line and nobody can argue against that.

So basically your saying. There are many QBs out there that could go to a SB if they were playing for Seattle or the niners....??

Throughout Romo's career how would you rank 1) Our GM, 2) Our Head Coaches, 3) Our defense, 4) Our OL, 5) Our running game, 6) our commitment to the run game? Based on how you perceive those rankings would you expect much team success?

I used the 9ers and the Seahawks as examples of teams that have a great defense and a coach with a commitment to a running game.

And yes, there are a few more QB's than just Romo. I didn't say 'many'.

Looke at what "the Rapist" has done without a good defense and dependable running game.

It is a shame you are having a hard time with this.

I get your point..... And I think Romo is a hell of a QB. I dont think too many coukd argue against that.

But. I'm just tired of excuses for him and Dallas. From the water boy to the owner,,,

Well, maybe if Romo didnt hog up all the money, we would've had more of a defensive unit?? If you're going to get paid that much...like manning and Brady. You got to have your team in the playoffs,.,..,.

Fact is. Romo hasn't got it done in Dallas.

Would u take a young romo over kap?

Yes, there has been some roadblocks for romo......I get it. But to put romo on a pedestal?

You could say the same exact thing for countless other QBs....

????

Fact is, .. not many QB's would "get it done" when they are continually playing from behind, when they can't depend on the running game when it is 3rd and 1 or 4th and goal, or when they have to score 27 or more to win.

Romo scored 30 and 48 this year and lost.

You can't throw the ball 40 or 50 times a game and not mess up somewhere.

My point was if Romo had a defense that kept most teams at 20 or below, or a running game that didn't force him to throw throw throw, .. he could take that team to a Super Bowl.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he could.

We will never know because Jerry can't build that team.

Really? You can show me countless QBs who consistently put up top 10 passing seasons among his peers who play for a notoriously bad GM, Coaches, defense, OL and running game???

And I agree....but to pay a guy 100 million dollars on a out of this world contract was a mistake. And to think Dallas will be nothing when he leaves is also a mistake...
Romo has made his mistakes too. In very big games....
