Dallas Cowboys hire Scott Linehan

I predict Callhan will be gone before training camp. Possibly even before the draft.

Jerry doesnt want to let him out of his contract. I really hope he isnt waiting for a draft pick or something because I think it would be a long wait.

I still don't expect Callahan coaching for us next season. Coach contracts are expendable.

Good

Move makes sense, Garrett and Scott have been close a long time.

Funny though, I saw some morons blurting out on this board yesterday that "this had Jerry written all over it, forcing members onto Garrett". Only if some of these morons paid attention a little to the past coaching tree connections.

2005 Miami Dolphins staff:

Head Coach – Nick Saban
Offensive Coordinator – Scott Linehan
Quarterbacks – Jason Garrett
Tight Ends – Derek Dooley
Offensive Line – Hudson Houck
Offensive Quality Control – Judd Garrett

But NO! This MUST be Garrett being a "Puppet"! It must it must it must

Oh hey there Mr. Facts.

Has the team announced who the play caller will be? I see it as:

Run game- Callahan
Pass game- linehan

And with his job on the line, red calls the plays.

Linehan will be the offensive coordinator and play caller.

This move is a gentle way of telling Callahan he's done around here. They hope he gets hired away or quits. Either way, he won't be coaching in Dallas this upcoming year. I will bet you 1 dollar.

Please, don't interfere with their agenda. I'm short of crying towels. :)

I like the move. Callahan had to be removed from that position, though I think he has value as a coach and can still be an asset to the team if they intend to keep him. He may not like it, but that's called being a professional. We ask players to do things they don't like all the time to help the team. This is a great opportunity for a coach to do the same and lead by example. This is about "US" and there might be no better way to impart that than by keeping Callahan. I can't say I know too much about Linehan as an OC, but it's clear (even more than on defense, in my opinion) we needed new leadership in that area. The Lions were certainly not shy about feeding Megatron the rock. Hopefully Linehan brings that same attitude to Dez, who was woefully under-targeted for some strange reason. If we can possibly generate a pass-rush on D and keep people healthy, despite the perpetual disappointment we've been experiencing, I think our team has a real shot to be competitive. The proof will be in the pudding, but I like the move...

I like the move. If Callahan isn't calling the plays, he has a very limited role here. Let Callahan move on and let Garrett get his own guy.

He averaged 10 targets a game.

Dez caught 93 passes on 160 targets and had 13 TD's.

Calvin Johnson caught 84 passes on 156 targets and had 12 TD's.

Cut the crap, stats don't tell the whole story. You can easily sit and watch the game and tell Dez was not used properly.

If stats tell the whole story, then Ken Hamlin was an All Star safety, that had 5 picks that 1 year.

Oh/
