I saw Detroit get out of the huddle quicker but still not a no huddle offense. THATS what we need around here,

Linehan will not be used as a scapegoat for Garrett in 2014. If Garrett cannot get this team to the playoffs he and this entire staff will be cleaned out, I believe.

Hard to call coaches who are hired and shoved down Garretts throat scapegoats. It wasn't his decision to make a line coach an offensive coodinator. He's cooking with other peoples ingredients.

I don't care what anyone says, I absolutely love the hire. He won't fail to get the ball to Dez, and while he doesn't run enough for some, he gets his backs involved in other ways.

Let's break down Linehan's numbers a bit. His backs carried the ball about 410 times in 2013, which roughly equates to 40% of all plays...BUT his backs were targeted about 560 times, which is over 50% of the overall plays. So, he found a way to get his backs involved in over half of the called plays.

Doesn't matter what they do to the offense because it won't make up for the terrible defense!

Any chance Matt Millen is available why JJ is at it? It's never to late for a Roy Williams return either!!

If anything, this thread should be a lesson in how the off-season moves along as it moves along.

All the howling out Monte Kiffin - lets actually wait and see if he's still not replaced in a week. Or in two weeks. Or after the Super Bowl. You know?

We did a ton of howling about Bill Callahan, and he's essentially been replaced. Patience. If Kiffin is still around come training camp, by all means feel free to freak out.

Move makes sense, Garrett and Scott have been close a long time.

Funny though, I saw some morons blurting out on this board yesterday that "this had Jerry written all over it, forcing members onto Garrett". Only if some of these morons paid attention a little to the past coaching tree connections.

2005 Miami Dolphins staff:

Head Coach – Nick Saban
Offensive Coordinator – Scott Linehan
Quarterbacks – Jason Garrett
Tight Ends – Derek Dooley
Offensive Line – Hudson Houck
Offensive Quality Control – Judd Garrett

But NO! This MUST be Garrett being a "Puppet"! It must it must it must

If I happen to see Saban in church the next couple of months, I'll ask him what he thinks of Linehan.........and Garrett.

Linehan will be the offensive coordinator and play caller.

This move is a gentle way of telling Callahan he's done around here. They hope he gets hired away or quits. Either way, he won't be coaching in Dallas this upcoming year. I will bet you 1 dollar.

Why can't they just fire him like normal teams do? I just don't get this approach....

Why pay him to coach for someone else? He can still contribute without calling plays.

Ever heard of "Too many cooks in the kitchen?" Beyond that it sounds like he might be disgruntled that he lost the play calling duties after just 1 season where the Cowboys ranked 5th in scoring. Most OCs would be.

In the world I live in, you'd give this guy his walking papers.

Should have hired Jim Schwartz to add to Kiffin and Marinelli since we're stockpiling coordinators.
