Today is the 18th anniversary of our last Super Bowl. (Also the 54th anniversary of the day the NFL awarded the league's 13th franchise, the Cowboys, to Clint W. Murchison, Jr....Happy Birthday, Dallas Cowboys!)

Back to the anniversary of Super Bowl XXX....a child born on that day, January 28, 1996, is today old enough to register to vote.

Things that didn't exist the last time we were in a Super Bowl:

Smart phones
Facebook
Wifi
iPods
Google
American Idol
Texting

Tony Romo was 16 years old
Dez Bryant was 7. (edited, h/t: Super Kazuya)

Is it just me or is it time to drop the Roman numerals? I would bet that 80% of America can't get past 40 without the help of Google :(

I was at that game. I was 7 years old and in second grade. I'll never forget this game.

I remember exactly where I was or wasn't during that game. I had no children in 1996. Now I have a daughter that drives car. Ahhhhhhh!!!!!

I was 12 when they played that Super Bowl. I still have vivid memories of that one. Most of my Super Bowl memories are more about where I watched them and the food I ate, I guess because it involved more senses.

Junior in college. I can't believe that was our last title. Take me back in a time machine to that game and even afterwards during the offseason and tell me this will be the last time the Cowboys will not only win the Super Bowl but play in it and have 2 more playoff wins in the next 20 years, I would have told that person they are absolutely crazy.

I bet on Cowboys to cover the spread and win.

They didn't cover. I lost $500. Didn't matter because I thought we were going to lose game. When Larry Brown stepped in 2x and won the game. I was saying the $500 can be replaced. Winning and beating stealers could not.

Does anyone realize the Raiders have been to the Superbowl more recently then us
Darn you Jerry Darn you I said

Challenger explosion was Jan 28th, not sure what year. Maybe 86?

Yes, .. 28 yrs ago.

My brother is a big time Stealer fan. What a fun day that was.

My whole family is, .. and everybody where I work and go to church, etc.

I needed that win, .. real bad.

I still have the flag banner up in my garage !!

I still have the newspaper clipping from last years OT win over the schteelars up in my office here at work.

Very good choice of words.

You cannot imagine, .. I said something to my buddy that I was watching with like, .. "it's happening again".

When we picked O'Donnell I didn't cheer, I was just so relieved.

The first half was great. Halftime sucked. The 2nd half was spent in OH CRAP mode because I felt no lead was safe. I knew we were the better team but we got outcoached. Sadly, that pattern continues to this day.
