Marinelli to take over as DC

Monte Kiffin as the assistant HC this year won't be the problem just like Kiffin as the DC wasn't the problem last year. You guys get riled up over nothing.
 
Not including himself, this is now 5 different coordinators who have been selected under Jason's command.

I bet it took Landry or Jimmy at least twice as long to accumulate that number.

Jason is so far ahead of schedule on his way to becoming a great coach it isn't even funny.
 
Has anyone realized that this defense literally has 3-4 good players? I mean seriously. 3-4...it's pathetic...

1 of them is church and he isn't even that good. But he's good enough.

1 of them is lee and he never plays

1 of them is hatcher and he is about to leave

Between Ware and Selvie - I will count that as one. Ware can be really good..hopefully he gets back. Selvie had a great year but who knows what he is. So together I will count them as one.

And the last one is scandrick.

That is pathetic.

Is there a less talented defense in the NFL? I really don't know.
 
So marinelli and kiff will collaborate to figure out a gameplan defensively? Also, Callahan is still the OC? But linehan is the play caller? And JG is just the figure head. Idk about this; much ado about nothing.

If that is true and it wasn't his choice or he wasn't there for another good reason then that just out and out sucks.

You have a point. I don't like all the upheaval. On the flip side Garrett may not have been able to get who he really wants. They may have been locked in elsewhere. I think the answer is somewhere in the middle. Garrett and the team need some stability and continuity. I don't like people just doing their time until they're out of there. Short timers aren't the best employees.

Don't know. But we are in a bind with defensive talent IMO. We need all the stars to align just right for things to go well on that side of the ball.
 
I'm just waiting for Jerry to announce that Jason Garrett is head of the new Head Coach Committee, with other members: Monte Kiffin Head Coach Almost Emeritus and Chair of the Rocking Chair Subcommittee; Rod Marinelli, Head Coach of the Defensive Head Coaches; Bill Callahan, Head Coach of the Two-Headed Offensive Head Coach Collective; and Scott Linehan, Other Head Coach of the Two-Headed Offensive Head Coach Collective and Generalissimo of the Offensive Playbook.

Jerry loves the passive fans. He doesn't like fans like myself who boo when they show his face on the jumbotron. As much as I don't like him... making Marinelli the DC was the right move.
 
Love this move! Theres 2 good moves this offseason. Keeping bailey the other one. Lets just hope the draft is almost all on the d.
 
I think a lot of this is people acting like TV talking heads looking for something to call "a disaster". No one over analyzes any team as much as this one.

I'm sure a lot of people on this board have jobs where things get reorganized. Yeah, sometimes theres' some grumbling, then guess what? Everyone goes back to doing their job.

Let's look at this. Garrett hired his former boss/mentor/friend to run the offense. That guy seems to have done decent jobs where he's been. Callahan gets stripped of...what? The playcalling that he already didn't have after Garrett took it over last year. Anyone that doesn't believe that happened last year, well, agree to disagree. So maybe he loses some public face. Boo hoo, take your millions and coach the oline and contribute to game planning. And the Cleveland thing? That means less than what people make of it. Ask 10 offensive coaches in the league if they'd rather be Cowboys OC or Cleveland's. Exactly.

On the defensive side, I doubt anything changes. Marinelli gets to make in-game adjustments and calls now. His old friend Kiffin probably feels like he got mauled in a prison closet last year, he gets to keep advising his guy and his players and help get new players while he rides around in a golf cart.
