I think Marinelli will be an improvement over Kiffin
Absolutely he will.

He is a pretty good DL coach.
His overall coaching record is less than exemplary... he never coached any position until he got to Detroit where he managed a .208 record which is one of the worst in NFL history. He then went to Chicago and helped Lovie Smith coach the defense, although that defense had been quite good under Lovie for a number of years including basically getting them to a superbowl.
He isn't a bum by any stretch, but it's not like he has a huge track record of success either.

And I don't know why some of you are complaining about bringing in someone to call plays and coordinate he passing game. Many of you complained about the play calling. They bring a play caller in and you complain?? Getouttahere!

I doubt much will change on that side.

You didnt really expect anything different did you?
I have no problem with the moves, however, neither of these moves really seem to move the dial far one direction or another which makes you wonder why do it at all?
Marinelli is going to run basically the same Tampa 2 he has been involved with in Tampa and Chicago. Kiffin will be there to help him.
Linehan will put Romo in the shotgun 95% of the time like Stafford and possibly be even more inclined to pass it. Feels a lot like Callhan.
IMHO, would have been nice for the Cowboys to bring in coordinators that would have affected real change, a commitment to some sort of consistent offensive or defensive philosophy.
Again, I think both of these moves are net positive -- it's just that the difference feels so minimal.
I'm convinced more than ever that Red has naked pics of Jerry at a strip club. Next year after 5-11 he will be GM/Head Coach while coordinators burn.

It's not about making the team better, don't you get it? Bill Callahan and Monte Kiffin failed them. They deserve to be punished and to lose their jobs for it. That's why fans always want coaches fired, even though it's obvious that there's nothing wrong with the individual coaches. They've had success in the past, and if they go someplace else they'll likely have success there. It's not about improvement. It's about vengeance.
Personally, i like this move. I have been thinking all along that Marinelli will be the next Head Coach. The move "up" by Kiffen is just to appease him And make Jerry look like he has a heart.
