You know, this is an honest question, so I'll answer it, but let me throw out the caveat that I'm pretty lonely as a JG supporter willing to post right now, so I get a bit of the one-legged-guy-at-a-butt-kicking-contest treatment when I post it, and that gets tedious, so understand if I don't engage actively if the replies start coming fast and furious.
I think he's a great communicator. I think he inspires support from his players--more than most coaches. I think he's assembled a decent staff, and that includes past hires and even Rob Ryan who I didn't like but who I think was a pretty good coach. I think he tolerates Jerry well and handles his...eccentricities. I think he's really, really good with handling press and PR. I think he runs an organized off season and camp. I think he's got a plan for the team long-term and he sticks to that plan. I think the changes he's made to the scouting department are good. I think our proscouting has improved significantly under him. I think our college scouting--especially the CFA signings--have improved under him. Even players we don't actually draft but had a lot of reported interest in have turned out to be pretty good players. He handles challenges (on gamedays, the red flags) well. I love how he'll rotate through options quickly and churn the roster aggressively when he's looking to fill positions. I like that he's been willing to cut underperforming vets and roll the dice on young players. I think he's done an ok job getting to 500 with the roster and injuries he's had-especially the last two years.
On the flip side, I don't thing he's strong on game days. I don't think he's a particularly gifted signal caller. I don't particularly like his offensive system and I think it's outdated and not all that fun to watch. He doesn't handle time management well. We don't run enough play action. He doesn't take enough down-distance risks for my liking. He's a ginger and probably does not have a soul as a result. He claps too much. That's about it on the negatives, but, by and large, when you compare them to the challenges of building a roster and bringing consistency to Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys, the positives far outweigh the negatives.
